Chapter 1

"Don't touch her! " Kourtney screamed at her father once she walked through the front door. Kourtney had just got back from work since her father is a coach potato and does nothing but drink and eat and put his hands on people. When she was walking outside she heard screaming so she picked up her pace. She opened the door and she saw her little sister in the corner crying with her father hovering over her with a bottle in his hands drinking some type of alcohol. " Who do you think you are taking to ? Cause I know you aren't talking to me hell must've frozen up and pigs must be flying cause I know you not talking to me. " he said as he turned around to look at Kourtney taking a swing of his bottle. " I deserve respect " he said. Kourtney rarely paying any attention to him all she could see is her little sister who is 16 crying in a corner. Her father still talking she walked right passed him and went to her sister telling her to stand up. " Where do you think your going? " her father said. She looked at him with a blank face and he's face dropped. Her father would rarely hit her cause she was an image of her mother. When her mother died he lost it. The blank face is all he remembers. He was never a good father but he was better than he is now. He used to just come home yelling at the girls mother. Accusing her of doing things but her mother was unable to do anything so she stayed home but its not like he was smart enough to notice. He was an old drunk back then too but it just got worst.

Kourtney took her sister up to her room leaving her father in the living room frozen. " I thought you said we will be leaving soon " her sister Jessica cried. " I know Jess but I have to get stuff prepared so when we leave we won't ever have to look back to this he'll whole ever again." Kourtney said holding her sister. Jessica just cried and Kourtney just held her til she fell asleep. " Mom why didn't you send us off somewhere safe , why didn't you leave him especially when he started hitting you .. you didn't need the stress. " Kourtney said out loud while running her hands through Jess hair. Kourtney just thought of all the happy moments she had with her mother til she fell asleep next to Jessica.
