Masquerade

Claire's P.O.V
Just another normal day of the life of mine, Claire, same morning routine, same job. I've been on the same journey for as long as I can remember. I got the groceries, and when I was heading home, I noticed a flier that said that there was going to be a community masquerade ball. I was so excited. The thing is Im actually not focused on guys a.t.m, but I've always wanted to go to one and I like to go out, but just haven't found anything fun to do. My best friend and I moved here and got an apartment together, we just moved here because college was starting like in a couple of weeks. The masquerade was going to be a great way to get a chance to meet people before school started. Once I put all the groceries where they belonged, I found McKenna and kind of yelled at her from excitement "OMG MCKENNA, THERES A MASQUERADE, WE HAVE TO GO!" Fine, because I love you". She said. We have been best friends since the seventh grade. I couldn't wait for the day to come.

The day of the ball
McKenna worked her magic and did my hair and makeup. When she was done, she stood by me admiring her work. My long brown hair was curly just how I always wanted it, along with my makeup of masquerade, that makes it look like I have long eyelashes. With glossy lips that are red with a hint of pink. I was wearing a black dress, that was so close to perfect with matching high heels. "We look so hot" McKenna said while twirling in her dress. "Heck yeah" I replied. After adjusting, we took pictures. We smiled as we made our way to the door. We headed our way.

We stopped in front of a beautiful mansion. When we got in, there were already people dancing on the dance floor. We immediately danced on the dance floor for a few minutes.

Then we went up to the DJ. "Could you play feel like dancin' tonight by all time low, please? "Yeah". I said thank you and we danced to the song.

After the song ended, McKenna said that she needed to get some air and left the ballroom. I didn't mind, I had water to drink, sitting at a table, then I decided to go to the bathroom.

?'s P.O.V
I always come to the masquerade ball, heck it's in my house. For the past years, my friend (who is a lesbian) would to these things, but this year she said she couldn't make it, so Im going to know no one here. As I reached the ballroom, with the short amount of time I have been watching, I see a girl, that I don't recall seeing before. I seems that the same people come here, but I never really socialize. She looked so innocent, she was just sitting there. Then she left. I decided to take a walk around. I was hoping I got to see where she was going.

Claire's P.O.V
When I came back to the ballroom to look for McKenna, she was nowhere to be found. So I wondered the mansion. I wasn't looking where I was going as I turned a corner, still looking around, looking for McKenna, I collided into someone. "I am so sorry, I wasn't paying attention. I was pacing through the halls searching for my friend, but I just can't seem to find her." When I was done rambling, I realized I ran into a young looking man. I then just smiled and said "I'm going to leave now."

?'s P.O.V
After wondering a bit, I decided to go back to the ballroom to hopefully see the girl again. As I was approaching a corner, someone ran into me. It took me a couple of seconds to comprehend why just happened. As I got situated, I saw who collided with me. It turned out to be the girl I hoped to see. I wanted to tell her it was ok for bumping into me after she apologized. But she just looked at me, smiled and left. I guess that I'm just in shock because as she left, all I could do was watch her leave. I stood there smiling speechless.

Claire's P.O.V
I didn't go to the ballroom, instead I made a stop to the bathroom to the closest bathroom to calm myself. When I walked out, I saw McKenna in the hallway. I was so happy to see her after being in the situation I was just in. We made our way back to the ballroom and danced to a few more songs. Then a guy approached us and turned to McKenna and asked "want to dance?" As she danced with the stranger, I made my way to a table and took off my heels. I looked around a bit, and my eyes decided to linger on a guy who I thought may have been staring back. As I'm looking at him, I realize he's the guy that I collided with. I turned away. "Why is a pretty girl like you here sitting by yourself?" He asked. "I found my friend, and a guy decided to dance with her, so I decided it was time to stop dancing since these heels are killing me. And I'm sorry about earlier." "It's no problem" "oh, and please don't pity me keeping me company, I'd like to know that you're here because you want to, and not because I ran into you." He starts laughing "no problem, I actually saw you before you ran into me." I smile at that. "Want to dance?" I doesn't take long for me to say "sure, why not?" He takes my hand and leads me to the dance floor. I place my hands around his neck, while he places his hands on my waist. We were swaying to just give me a reason by p!nk. After a few minutes we sit back down. The ball was almost over, so I said "I have to look for my friend again, and pay attention to where I'm actually going." He actually laughed at that. As I was walking away he asks "what's your name?" "Claire", I said. "Ethan" he says back. "Hey, do you want to play I games?" I ask "Sure" we exchange phone numbers. I smile and turn back around. I find McKenna and we go back to our apartment. I think to myself that I didn't want to deal with guys, but Im kind of want to see where this goes.

Much appreciated to read and give feed back on that as well. I got this chapter from that story. I wanted the characters to meet in a cafe, but I couldn't get the details, so I went with this.
