The group of six made their way quickly away from the whomping willow back up to the castle, Sirius and Remus were standing guard over peter who had been but in a full body bind curse and was floating in front of them. Hermione and Harry were helping Ron due to his broken leg from where Sirius had tried to grab Peter in his rat form. The group were met in the courtyard by Dumbledore who had a small smile on his face and his bright blue eyes twinkled strongly despite it being dark.

"Welcome back Sirius" said Dumbledore with a tone of sadness in his voice "i'm sorry to say i believed you were guilty, the evidence was undeniable."

"We made a switch, Peter became secret keeper, i suggested to James and Lily that we switch because i thought Voldemort would think i was the obvious choice, so we tried to throw him off the trail." said Sirius

"well, everything is about to change for you now sirius, you will be a free man by the morning, i will make sure of it"

"thank you professor"

"It's Albus to you now Sirius as i'm no longer your teacher, lets now proceed to my office, the minister is set to arrive any minute now"

"Before we enter ill put an invisibility charm over you, don't make any noise. i'm not sure how Cornelius will react to seeing you Sirius"

"good evening Cornelius"

"its not a very good evening as it happens Dumbledore, Black has escaped our grasps yet again"

"while walking the ground i came across a rather interesting scene, you could call it. Mr Black was with a member of my staff, Remus Lupin. Mr black used a full body bind curse on someone, they then proceeded along with Mr Potter, Mr Weasley and Ms granger to bring this person to the castle."

"so he's attacked someone else.... with help, this makes everyone at the scene accountable."

"i think you'll find Cornelius they were well within their right to do so"

And with a flick of his wand Dumbledore removed the invisibility charm revealing the group of six to Cornelius and the two Aurors present, and just as the Aurors pulled out their wands a magical shield appeared in front of the group blocking the two incoming spells aimed at Sirius.

"Sirius is innocent Cornelius, Mr Pettigrew's presence proves that, i have some veritaserum here if the evidence before you is not enough."

"yes, yes use the serum, on Black and Pettigrew"

"i'll go first Albus" said sirius as he moved forwards and sat down in the chair summoned by the Minister.

Dumbledore handed the serum to Cornelius who added two drops to sirius' mouth

"What is your name?"

"Sirius Orion Black."

"What was your occupation before you went to azkaban?"

"I was an Auror."

"Were you the Potters secret keeper at the time of their death?"

" No, me and Pettigrew switched to throw Voldemort off our trail"

"Did you murder Pettigrew and the twelve muggles?"

"No Pettigrew did, he then cut off his finger then transformed into a rat."

Dumbledore added two drops of another liquid to reverse the effects and turned to the minister.

"I think that should be satisfactory, Mr Black was framed by Pettigrew you can't deny the evidence minister."

"no i cannot, you two take Mr Pettigrew back to the ministry for questioning and have the dementors removed from the castle. i'm sorry Mr Black for what has happened and i deeply regret what happened to you. you are as of now a free man and i will make sure your records are updated and it is published in the profit that you are in fact innocent. good night."
