Founding of Meistrite Gild
The rain bores down from the night sky. It's like the floodgates have opened to unleash a wrath on earth. A silent wind blows the rain drops into the face of a stranger, who is walking on a muddy road. The Cape covers him and shields him from the cold raindrops. In the distance a faint light seems to simmer in the everlasting rain. He walks forward it slowly but steady. As he nears the light a clearer picture emerges. The Tavern called the "de'old hag" greets the stranger. He has been here before, but that all was a long time ago. Before entering the tavern's door. He takes a quick peek around to see if there is someone else behind him. When he looks back, he sees none. Only the dark emptiness in the rain.
So he makes his steps closer to the door and opens it to get shelter inside.
The tavern is filled with all kinds of people, from drunk Nobleman to people who just happen to pass by wanting to enjoy company or a meal. The stranger takes his cape off and makes his way on a table that's empty and close to the fireplace. The warmth of the fire makes the stranger feel good as he feels he has finally reached his end of the journies. Even if this place he sits is just temporary shelter for him it's better than being outside in the rain. The stranger looks around: not a single familiar face in sight. As he looks at the fire, hes mind starts to wander. Wander on the roads his walked to this point. A deep sadness fills his heart.
As his minds begins to wander he hears a voice saying: Hello, stranger, long time no see?
The stranger looks upwards with his green eyes to see a face he recognizes.
Aaron: Syrax..
As he answers to the lady at the other side of the table. She replies to him:
Syrax: Might if I join your company?
Aaron: sure please be my guest.
Lady Syrax takes a seat on the opposite side of Aaron. She starts the conversations slowly and with a calm voice.
Syrax: Well Aaron, I was not expecting you to see here at all. Where have you been all this time?
Aaron hesitates and answers: I have been here and there, wandering around in the world.
Syrax looks at Aaron and he sees a sad face filled with despair as if his world has been crushed.
Syrax: I think I know the reason why you were gone all this time?
Aaron: Well I suppose it's not a secret anyway..
Syrax: I know what happened to the Empire you served in. I'm sorry for your losses there.
However that place was corrupted, long before you even got there. Trust me I instead of you would feel relieved from not having to serve anyone.
Aaron looks at Syrax, her voice is so calm and like everything she says comes with a ease.
Aaron: Easy for you to say, I lost more than a job...everything is gone. Everything I valued in this life. Im responsible for what happened.
Syrax listened to Aaron and then replies to him with the same calm voice as before:
Syrax: Don't blame yourself what happened. You got caught up in lies, you could have done nothing to prevent it. It was meant to happen this way.
Aaron: I agree what you say. But it's hard to believe it all over.
Syrax: Aaron... I know you are a good person in heart you did what was in your power to do. But listen to me now. So you lost everything and everyone. But does that mean you have to accept this?
Aaron: Syrax, I trust you but I don't know what to do anymore?
Syrax: If you keep thinking back on what was and what could have been your only making it worse. You know what you should do? Build your own village and from there your own kingdom. Stop serving others and grant them there wishes. You should know by now that there is a reason why I'm independent from any kingdom out there.
Aaron: I guess. But its easy for you to say. You already are a respected person. I'm no one.
Aaron's face got filled with anger for a moment as if he felt betrayed.
Syrax smiles and begins to laugh: hahaha oh my, so this is how you see things?
Then she stops and gets back being serious:
Syrax: Look what have you got to lose? You really should consider establishing your own kingdom.
I have seen a lot of kingdoms come crashing down and it's all because of the reasons why you got left out in the rain.
Aaron: ......silence.
Syrax: I think you are able to build a fair and righteousness kingdom unlike the others. It will be hard in the beginning.
But you will see it will pay off itself. A happy place with friends and relatives to live and flourish. I would be more than happy to visit your kingdom......
As Syrax finishes her sentence: but for that you have to establish it first.
Aaron: I will think about it. And thanks Syrax your words really are a blessing as they say.
Syrax: That was the least I could do for you.(as she smiles back)
Aaron : I would need to buy land for that but should be not a problem.
Aaron's face has turned now from despair to a more cheerful mood. As syrax smiles him back.
Syrax: Great. Then you can start soon.
As Syrax stands up and grabs her black cape she says her final words.
Syrax:
Aaron I will be going now. It was nice seeing you again and think about what I said.
Aaron: Thanks but you will be traveling with this weather outside?
Syrax: Sure, rain does not stop me from doing anything. I got a few loose ends to take care of and this weather is just perfect for that.
As Syrax turns her black cape towards Aaron. She looks back to say farewell one more time:See you around then....future Master!
As Syrax makes her way out of the tavern, Aaron begins to wonder. The night goes on and a deep slumber comes over Aarons body. As he falls asleep on the table.
As the morning came. Aaron makes hes way out of the tavern. He had been contemplating about Syraxes words. But his mind is now clear as fresh spring water. He follows he's heart desire and makes he's way by foot to the nearest town. There he signed the contract with a merchant and buys a piece of land claim to himself. For the money he had earned while serving under the empire.
By the end of the day he had reached the place he had both, all the time always traveling east wards. A hill with forests and mountains surrounding the land claims.
"There is plenty of room here, better start working" said Aaron to himself with confidence.
Without hesitation he erected from nearby found stones a altar and placed 5 crystals and light two candles. To ask the spirits of the world for help and guidance.
Aaron stayed up all night just sitting in front of the altar. On the morning his greeted by the suns rays. The sun is rising from the east and he can feel its warmth on he's face.
He shakes he's head to look around and when he turned to he's back. 3 people he knew from he's past. Had already made there way to the place where he erected the altar.
There was joy in Aarons face, as he understood that he had set something big in motion. For him this was the beginning of a totally new world.
And so the first founding stones for the guild had been set into place.
How does the story unfold from here? That is for you to find out...
