Rowan Bishop was three years old when the meteorite struck earth's land. Her mother was out in the yard tending to the garden. Lucy Bishop didn't have time to react as the rock struck the window and landed at her daughter's feet. Rowan noticed the rock and picked it up. She stuck it into her mouth as her father ran into the room. Trent Bishop didn't know what happened until he saw his young child swallow.
"Rowan, no!" Her father yelled. He pried open her mouth, putting his dirty fingers down her throat. But it was already far gone, and dissolving in her stomach. Little did they know that this small rock would change Rowan's life, and theirs.

15 Years Later
Beep! Beep! Beep! Rowan's alarm blared before dawn. She tumbled her feet over the side of the bed. Her jet black haired rolled down to the bottom of her back as she stood up. She made her way over to her closet and grabbed her clothes. While she pulled on clothing, Rowan stretched. Her black leggings matched her black sweatshirt. Under that she wore a navy blue shirt, with Stitch on it.
She got ready for school and as she was eating for breakfast, she reached for the milk. It went flying across the room and slammed into the wall. Rowan stared at her hands and smiled.
"Mom, Dad!" Rowan screamed, "I have superpowers!" Her father shook his head, denying her powers. She heard her parents talking in the other room, but only in bits.
Did she say... maybe.. meteor from.. years ago... Did this mean that a meteor gave her powers somehow? But when?

A Few Days After
Rowan was walking with her friends, Rachel and Ashley, when it happened. They were going to their last class of the long school day.
"Ladies, back away from the subject!" A man in a suit asked, walking onto the street in front of them. His blonde hair was styled in a sort-of hip way, giving off the government impression.
"Ladies, step away," He repeated, "I am special officer Charles Baker".
"Yeah, I read your nameplate." Rowan responded. His face turned red, and he pulled out a gun. Ashley backed up and Rachel stood her ground. Rachel asked why he was doing this. Orders. Who would set out to hurt me. Me! Of all people. Rachel backed off to not be hurt.
"Miss, come here" Charles said. Rowan slowly made her way forward. He pulled out a walky-talky. I have the mutant under control. Rowan realized she was in danger and started to step back. She didn't want to reveal her powers to her friends. Baker called in backup and Rowan turned to run. He pulled out a gun and told her to back down and not to move.
Rowan stared him right in the eyes and winked. She wrapped her hands in a ball, then moving them outward. Agent Charles Baker was sent flying across the street, right into a lamppost. The crack was deafening, and his body crumpled to the ground.
Rowan's friends screamed. She ran, she was scared. That crack didn't sound good. Oh god. What did I do?! By the time Rowan was off campus, more soldiers had arrived with armed weapons. As she ran past Baker, the crackle of a walkie-talkie rang out Target Spotted.
The shot at her, but with quick adjustments, Rowan was able to deflect the bullets with her mind. Unfortunately, she only hit one soldier's leg. He cried out which caused Rowan to cringe. This minor moment let a bullet slip through. Rowan gasped and fell to her knees.
"Tagged her," one of the armed personnel spoke out. It was a female's voice. She had fear in her eyes as she bent down to check Rowan's wound. The bullet struck deep into her stomach. Her face was scrunched up in excruciating pain, yet no blood emerged.
"Sir," the woman simply stated, "she's really hurt." He nodded and picked her up with surprising strength. She had a worried expression in her eyes as Rowan went limp. Her arm sagged off her stomach and blood started flowing out.
