The Daughter Of Steven Crain

Chapter 2.

Maggie's POV:
I unpacked everything I had and put it into the room. I put all my books on a book shelf and sat at the end of my bed. I turned on the tv in my room and began watching a documentary on Hill house. Dad (steve) came in. And sat next to me.

Steve: "What is this?"

Me: "A documentary on hill house. Did you guys know about this?"

Steve: "No but who cares."

He took the remote and turned off the TV

Steve: "Anything you wanna know about Hill House I'll tell you but all of that stuff on the TV is bullshit."

Me: "Ok dad. What happened that night?"

Steve: "My mother had issues she killed herself my dad took us from the house and left her there we went to a motel my dad went back and she was gone."

Me: "I'm sorry."

Steve: "It's ok. She was sick. Really sick."

Me: "What happened to your dad?"

Steve: "Luke went back to the house to burn it down the house won't burn down though. My dad left me with the truth he overdosed on pills because my siblings and I were trapped in the red room and the only way she'd let us out is if one of us stayed with her so my dad stayed with her. And we found out the red room was my game room, theo's dance studio, Luke's treehouse, and moms reading room. We got out and we haven't been back since."

Me: "Do your siblings know the truth?"

Steve: "Yes. My father didn't want them to know but I told them anyway. I know it's getting late and you probably want dinner but I have no idea how to cook. We can learn together but tonight let's just order pizza."

Me: "That's fine by me."

Steve And I got up from the bed and headed to the kitchen he ordered the pizza and sat on the couch.

Me: "So have you tried online dating? You should I'm sure lots of girls would go out with you."

Steve: "I don't know how to setup a account."

Me: "I can help you!"

Steve: "Speaking of phones why don't I get you one tomorrow?"

Me: "Really?!"

Steve: "Yeah Of course you'll be at school so I'll need to make sure you're safe."

Me: "Wow thanks dad. Hand me your phone I'll make your account."

He handed me his phone and I set up his account. I went on a free dating app and made it for him.

Me: "Hey dad you have a match already! Her name is Madison but she goes by Maddie!"

Steve: "What does she look like?"

I handed him the phone.

Me: "Talk to her!"

Steve: "Ok ok."

He started texting her and the pizza arrived. I got up from the couch and got the pizza and set it on the table.

Me: "Ok dad put the phone down and eat some dinner."

Steve: "Ok ok."

He puts down his phone and eats pizza.

Me: "So are you going out with her?"

Steve: "Yeah Friday Aunt Theo will watch you. Is that ok?"

Me: "Of course dad. Let me know how the date goes!"

Steve: "Yeah Of course."

We talked for an hour and we cleaned up and headed to bed.

Steve: "Goodnight Maggie."

Me: "Goodnight Dad."

Steve: "I love you."

Me: "I love you too."

I closed my eyes and tried to go to sleep but nightmares flooded my brain I couldn't sleep I started screaming and shaking when I woke up. Dad ran in my room and started holding me.

Steve: "Hey hey shh it's ok. What's wrong?"

Me: "It was a nightmare."

Steve: "what happened?"

Me: "It was about my dad."

Steve: "I'm sorry do you wanna come sleep in my room?"

Me: "Yeah please."

We got up from my bed left my room and closed the door. We went to dads room once I got in his bed I fell asleep automatically.
