"We're here!" Mark yelled out dropping his bag on the cold forest floor.

"Yeah, like that's a good opening to a horror novel." Y/n mumbled to herself grumpily.

"Why you gotta be such a grumpy pants Y/n?" Laughed Mark.

"Oh she's just angry that she's gonna lose." Jack piped in.

"Lose what?" Suddenly Y/n's curiosity stole away her sour mood.

Smiling devilishly Jack looked into Y/n's eyes. "The ghost story contest." He chuckled.

"Ghost stories." Y/n slumped back down. "That sounds a bit-"

"-spoopy." Ethan smiled widely.

"Yeah," Y/n sighed out, "let's assume I was gonna say that." Y/n set down her bag lightly. "Who's starting the fire? It's already getting dark." Waiting a moment for a response Y/n squatted down to her bag and started unpacking her tent.

"I'll do it, I just need to get some sticks." Mark smirked quickly going off in search for the perfect fire place sticks.

By the time Y/n, Ethan, Jack, and Tyler had set up their tents Mark returned with a bundle of sticks.

"Who's sharing a tent with me?" Mark spoke as he placed the sticks in a pre-dug fire pit.

Everyone seemed to look confused as they looked to Mark.

"Did you not bring a tent?" Jack asked.

"Uh," Mark trailed off as he set the sticks against each other, "no?"

"Is that a question?" Y/n asked.

"Is your fACe a question?" Mark mumbled back defensively.

Y/n smirked. "You can share mine if you promise not to drool."

"Hey!" Mark looked away from his sticks.

Ethan smiled widely. "Where's the s'more stuff?"

"I got it." Tyler said grabbing a shopping bag out of his perfectly structured tent.

"Maybe I wanna share a tent with Tyler." Mark whispered before returning to his sticks.

Jack grabbed a mini, silver, flashlight out of his pocket. "You guys almost ready to be spooked out of your mind?"

"The fire isn't ready." Mark spoke rushed in hope he could light the sticks by the end of his sentence. Because of a lack of lighter or matches he did not.

Y/n took a few steps towards Mark's bundle of sticks. "You making a fire or just organizing the forest?"

"Well Y/n, maybe if I had some fire I could use it to make a bigger fire." Mark frowned organizing his sticks some more. "Why you in such a bad mood? You keep making fun of me. Eat a s'more, you'll be in a better mood."

"I would but there isn't a fire so I can't make one." Y/n remarked with a light smile.

"Seriously why you in a bad mood? You like the forest, you like the people around you, you should be having fun." Mark questioned finally making the perfect stick structure.

"Only time will tell." Y/n shrugged her shoulders with a genuine smile.

"We can actually have a fire later, let's start the spoop!" Jack laughed pointing his flashlight at himself from under his face.

"Gather around children," Jack spoke in a witchly voice, "and listen to my tail..."
