Casey took out his keys and enters them into the door hole, pulling the door closer to him and turning the key. Once he heard the click, he twisted the key again and pulled it out. He opened the door and stepped in to his house. He could hear running water and dishes being moved around. As soon as he walked in, the smell of sweets flooded his senses. He took his sneakers off at the door and entered the kitchen. His mom glanced at him and smiled warmly.
"There's my little man! How was school pumpkin?" She asked as she wiped her wet hands on her apron.
"Pretty tiring honestly. Has dad called or anything today?" He responded as she embraced him in a warm and loving hug.
"Sadly no, he must be really busy. Im sure he'll call or come home soon though. I know its hard with all that research and scientific stuff keeping him busy all the time," She sighed, "I wish he could spend more time with us." She released him from the hug and went back to cleaning the dishes.
"By the way, what's that smell?" He asked as he panned the kitchen.
"Ohh you're probably smelling the cake im making. Its not done now so come back later mkay?" She smiled. He nodded and headed off to his room, throwing his backpack on the ground and collapsing on to his bed. High school can be pretty tough. Before he even started on his work he wanted to rest. So he got comfortable and let the darkness of sleep consume his vision.
He opened his eyes and sat up. It took a moment to realize he wasn't in the same room anymore. The walls were a dark grey and there were bright florescent lights everywhere. There wasn't any windows. Just a big metal door. The bed he was laying on looked somewhat like a hospital bed. He swung his legs over the edge and got up.
"C..asey? Y..ou the..re..?" A static voice echoed through the room. The voice sounded familiar to him.
"Dad? Where are you?" Casey called out. The static started clearing up to where he heard nothing but his fathers voice.
"O-okay son, I need you to listen very carefully. T-theres som--" before he could finish he heard a low growl.
"R-RUN CASEY. GET OUT OF HERE NOW." His dad screamed. The growling got louder and the radio cut off, occasionally turning back on to reveal his fathers painful cries and what sounded like someone ripping someone apart. Casey collapsed on his knees and vomited on the floor. Tears welled up in his eyes as the sounds continued. After a few minutes they stopped. He wiped his mouth with the sleeve of his shirt and shakingly stood back up.
"You're next~" a voice giggled. Casey ran over to the door and swung it open. There were more doors and two ways he could go. Left or right. He closed his eyes and tried to listen for any movement but his heart was pounding too loud. He opened his eyes once again and walked back in the room. There were no maps or anything so he had no clue where to go.
He decided to take the left path. He silently closed the door behind himself and headed down the hall. He tried to be as quiet as possible and kept alert for any noises. His heart was pounding so hard he could hear it.
He started to hear footsteps around the corner. He crouched down low and froze.
"C..asey..!" His fathers voice called out. He sounded hoarse. Casey peaked around the corner and gasped at his fathers appearance. Clothes torn and stained with blood, bandages wrapped around his stomach incorrectly, and his eye. His left eye was gone, leaving only a pit of red with blood staining his pale face.
"C-Casey!!! Thank god you're safe, you need to get out of here now!!!" His father said.
"What happened? W-who did that to you?" Casey asked with a shaky voice. His father held out a map of the place. The top read The raven facility. The exits were all circled in red.
"You just go. I'll try to make sure that thing doesnt follow okay? Once you get home, call the police and give them a code Square. They'll know what that means. Take care of your mother ok--" before his father could finish, something shot right out of the grown and through his chest. It held him up in the air as he dangled his legs and clawed at the black sharp tentacle like thing. He coughed up blood and his movements began to slow. His body eventually went limp as the tentacle thing seeped back into the ground and dropped him on the ground. Blood poured from his mouth and the new hole formed in his chest. Casey felt his blood run cold and he vomited all over the floor again. He sat next to his fathers lifeless body and sobbed. He held his father close to him tightly, and begged for him to get up. Blood stained his clothes.
"Ill kill them all if you dont hurry and save them~" the demonic voice giggled. Casey shakingly stood up and began running to the exit. He needed to get home and protect his mother and his sister. He ran as fast as he can out the door and down the street. He slammed open the front door to his house and called out for his family.
"CASSIDY?! MOM?! WHERE ARE YOU?!" he yelled. It was quiet. Too quiet. Blood stained the walls of the hall.
He ran to Cassidys room first. He opened the door and covered his mouth. There lay her lifeless body in the middle of the floor. She had her teddy bear tucked under her arm, stained with her blood. Her jaw was ripped off and her eyes were wide open, lifeless but still looking directly at him. She had a huge hole in the middle of her stomach and blood was pooled around her. Her jaw was across the room from her.
He felt numb. He slowly closed the door behind him and walked to his mothers room. She layed in the middle of the room as well, blood everywhere. Her arms were missing and her eyes had been ripped out and placed on the dresser so that they looked at him.
"Looks like you werent fast enough, now youre next~" the voice laughed insanely. The laughing got more and more distorted as everything got darker.
Casey screamed and jolted up from his bed. He was covered in sweat and tears pricked his eyes. The door gently opened to reveal his mother and father.
"H-hey son you ok...?" His father asked. He was perfectly normal. His mother too. Both of them looked concerned.
"S-sorry..just...a bad dream.." As Casey said that, he felt a bit releaved. He was fine. His parents was fine. Cassidy was....
"W-wait where's cassie?!" He started to panic. He jumped up and pushed past his parents then swung open her door. Cassidy jumped amd screamed.
"Casey!!!! What are you doing?? Im trying to play with my friends!!" Cassidy huffed, crossing her arms and pouting. Her stuffed animals were propped up around her.
Casey ran over and hugged his little sister tightly.
"Casey stop i cant breathe!" She struggled out of his grip, "whats wrong with you?" She asked with a clearly annoyed expression.
"Hm..nothing..sorry," he smiled and ruffled her hair. He exited the room and sighed.
"Do you wanna talk about that dream..? Ive got cookies and stuff waiting for you" his mother asked and smiled gently. Casey reluctantly agreed and him, his mother and father all headed to the kitchen to discuss it.
