She heard the sound of the door opening and there she was. Kate's grandmother looked very angry and she points her finger at Kate and says," Why do you have to knock so loud? How old do I look like 107!? Geez! Young people these days always thinking we are deaf well I got my hearing aid you know. I baked banana loaf come in the kitchen. Come inside,". Kate followers her grandmother to the kitchen among looking at vintage paintings and old photos of her parents and grandmother. "When was this taken, grandma?" asked Kate. The grandmother looked closer at the photo hanging on the wall. "Well.... Let me see. Um, ". She takes off the frame and checks st the back of the photo. " Ah! Yes! It was taken by your dad's aunty, Dolores, in 1970. They called me 'Marilyn Monroe' hehe. I was one fine English girl. I made the boys go crazy and at 24, I left with your grandpa to America because...." She paused.
" Because what?" asked Kate. The grandmother smiled and said that it is because it's time to eat the banana loaf.
This made Kate curious to what her grandmother could be hiding. " Maybe her parents didn't accept grandpa into the family or refused to give their blessings" she thought to herself as she ate the banana loaf.
P.O.V.
I couldn't tell her about what happened. The child is too young to know at 17. All the child ever does is write in her diary for these past 2 days and she always seem to be hiding something well maybe it's because I paused and didn't finish my sentence.
I walked in the corridor with the memories of a beautiful family we once had. The picnics we had and chicken every Sunday. The horrid that he became. The sick evil man I knew. Crying and blaming others well my dear grandchild in glad your safe. I smiled feeling relieved.

"Come in," I said. " Grandma? It is okay if I can sleep her because actually feel very lonely upstairs and being the only one upstairs. It's creepy," she said as she stood by my doorway. I told her that whenever she feels alone she could come and sleep by me.
"Grandma, How do u manage to be alone in this house?" asked Kate. I hold her hand and told her that I'm a strong woman and fearless. I told her stories of my days. Soon she began to fall asleep.

The fifth day Kate heard a sound. She asked her grandmother about it and she said that it's been 125 years old and that her parents stayed there so there's not such things as ghosts. Kate felt unsure to trust her grandmother for she was sure that she heard something that came from the 4th room in the house.
Every night Kate would hear that same sound. Curious, on her 10th night there she went to the room and heard a sound coming from the door which is next door.
' tap ,tap' the sound her shoes made. She nervously opened the door.Nothing but the darkness made it unable for her to see and she wouldn't find the switch for it was not near the door. She heard a sound. The heart beats faster as she begin sweating and tries not to make a sound

"want some more!? " asks her grandmother. She gasps as she was frightened and as pale as her face was, she said "no thanks". Her grandmother walk to the other room and she hears again.
