Little Lupin (James Potter x OC)

Chapter Two

James and Sirius were shocked, to say the very least. "You-how...Why-when-?"

"A while ago, when Remus got bitten by Greyback, that nasty little-"

"No cussing, Arty."

"Yeah, yeah. Whatever. So after he got bitten, Mum and Dad thought that I should become a registered Animagus to be safe if I ever got near him during his transformations." Artemis explained. Sirius grinned.

"So, what's your Animagus?" He asked. The younger Lupin looked down and shuffled her feet.

"Well... You see...I-"

"It's a bunny." Remus said flatly. The boys looked at each other, then exploded into laughter.

"It's not THAT funny." Artemis grumbled.

"Change, change, change!" Sirius chanted. She sighed then closed her eyes. She shrank, and sprouted ears from the top of her head, and in a couple of moments, there sat a tiny, grey, fuzzy , looking very grouchy indeed. This just made the boys laugh even harder. The tiny rabbit thumped her foot(?) angrily.

"Oh, cheer up, Thumper! Bloody hell, you weren't even as big as my hand! I could fit you in half a tissue box!" James laughed, making Sirius' eyes widen.

"Thumper! That's it! That can be her Marauders nickname!" Sirius yelled jumping up and down.

"Alright then, I now have been publicly humiliated, and I think I'm going to be going back to the castle, if any of you would like to come along. James, don't we have a quidditch game tomorrow?" Artemis asked, changing back to a human. James nodded and looked at the clock on the wall.

"Oh! It's lunch soon! The perfect time to introduce the 5th Marauder!" He exclaimed. The other Marauders nodded and they walked back to Hogwarts. When they got to the Great Hall, they kicked open the door and set off fireworks from their wands, spelling "INTRODUCING ARTEMIS LUPIN, AKA THUMPER, THE FIFTH MARAUDER" making everyone gasp and look at Artemis with wide eyes. The boys (including Peter, who had met them in front of the Great Hall, and taken an immediate liking to Artemis, as he remembered her as the girl who kicked Snape in the shins after hexing Peter) dragged Artemis to the Gryffindor table, where she was immediately bombarded with questions about how she got into the Marauders and if she was Remus' sister or cousin, etc.

"So, Arty, how is it being a Marauder?" Remus questioned.

"Well, considering I've been a Marauder for fifteen minutes, I'm not really sure if I'm fit to judge." Artemis replied, rolling her eyes. "But I'm sure it will be brilliant," she added.James grinned, already liking her personality.

"Oh trust me, Thumper. It will be."
