"Y'know, like a lesson or something," Finn explained.
"Umm..." I hummed anxiously.
"It'll be fine. It's not like it's Finn and Millie making out. It's for the show," Finn tried to convince me.
Why was he being so persistent?
"So are you in, or are you out?" Finn asked, gesturing his hands accordingly.
"Fine, I'll do it," I replied monotonely, adding an eye roll at the end.
"Okay, cool," Finn smiled.
"Cool," I replied, with a slight upturn of my lips.
Finn stood, and opened the door to the writers room.
"So, what did you guys agree on?" Shawn asked, the group returning to their seats.
"We're gonna do it," Finn replied, and the directors started cheering.
"Great, cause if you said no, we didn't really have a back-up plan," Matt admitted, and although I didn't show it, a wave of fear washed over me.
I couldn't back out now.
"Alright, so you guys will be filming the scene tomorrow at the-" Ross began.
"Tomorrow?" I asked, mortified. I turned to Finn, whose pale skin went even more so. It brought out his freckles. And that sweater? It looked so cute on him.
Shut up Millie! Remember? You have to make out with him tomorrow!
"Yes, tomorrow," Matt confirmed, bringing me from my thoughts.
"Are we going to have a problem here?" Shawn asked, reminding me that these people were our bosses before our friends.
"No, not at all," I replied quickly.
"Nope," Finn added casually.
"Alright, we'll see you at the field tomorrow," Ross informed us, and we all stood.
"See you," I said on the way out.
"Wait," Matt called after us, walking up to Finn and I in the doorway, "You might wanna go check your neck out."
The fuck?
After giving Matt a weird and confused look, I swung the door open, then broke into a steady jog en route to our trailer.
"Millie!" Finn called after me, "Wait up!"
I didn't look back, I just kept running. I reached the trailer, and went inside. I sat down on the purple felt love seat, and curled my legs up to my chest.
I didn't think I could do this.
"Millie?" someone asked, opening the trailer door slowly.
"Mhm," I mumbled at the person, who I recognized as Finn by the mop of black hair sitting on top of his head.
"Are you okay?" he questioned, and I sensed a hint of concern.
"I don't know," I said truthfully, "I guess I just don't want to let anyone down."
"Millie, you wouldn't be letting anyone down if you decided to back out in the end. Not the Duffers, not Shawn, or the writers," Finn explained with a reassuring grin, and I looked up at him.
"And certainly not me. Don't even worry about it," he finished, and I nodded with a small smile.
"Well, we have approximately twenty four hours until we have to make out on camera," I observed, reading the watch on my wrist.
