The big day had finally arrived, Mia's big move. Mia had been waiting for this day since the end of her junior year. It's 6 am and Mia is up with energy and getting her things settled into her parents car. "Are you sure about this Mia?" asked her mom. "Never been more sure about something in my life." Mia replied. As they continued to pack the things into the car Mia's mother explained to Mia that her aunt, the person she will be staying with has a friend living with her as well and that Mia should be nice about it. Mia made a disgusted face but didn't really mind it, she was more excited about all the spectacular opportunities awaiting her. She sat in the front sea of her mom's car as her mom locked the house. Finally they were on there way to the airport. It was 7:15 am and the traffic was terrible. Mia had an hour to get to the airport or she could miss her flight, which made her anxious. "Mami my flight is in an hour, mind going a little faster?" Mia's mother gave Mia a stern look and told her to calm down that they were going to make it. They arrived at the airport at 7:55 am and the airport was full, Mia jumped out of the car and left running until her mother yelled at her. "Mia, y mi abrazo?(Mia, where's my hug?)" Mia stopped mid run and left her things in a corner and ran back and gave her mother hugs and kisses. Tears were shed but it was quick because Mia was running late. She grabbed her things and ran as quickly as she could to pick up her ticket and get through TSA. She was quick and barely made her flight at 8:10 am. As Mia sat at the last sights of "Puerto Rico" she was going to see in a while she cried to herself because she was going to miss her family. The next 2 hours Mia was going to spend in the air, she wasn't excited but she knew that at the end it was all going to be worth it. As the plane took off she felt the impact of leaving everyone behind hit her, she was kind of regretting it and wanted to go back. Although she wanted to go deep down she knew that her and her family wanted what was best for her and for her to have a bright future. That thought was the only thing that kept Mia with the ability to move forward. After 2 long excruciating hours Mia finally arrived at her connecting airport, Orlando, Florida. She didn't have to wait too long to get on her second airplane to California but she was very tired so she decided to stop at the nearest coffee shop to get an ice coffee. Luckily the coffee shop was next to her gate and she was able to get her coffee and smoothly get on her second airplane. Mia was in a window seat for the second flight and she was so happy about it. This flight is 5 hours but she had a view so it wasn't as bad, it gave her an opportunity to take pictures of the clouds and watch the sunset. After 5 tiring hours, Mia finally lands in Los Angeles, California. She felt so much excitement she hardly could contain it. She got off the airplane and went towards baggage claim and saw her bag and quickly grabbed it and went on the search for her Aunt Olivia. She waited for a good 20 minutes and finally found her in her brand new Kia Soul. Hugs were parted and then Mia saw her... Aunt Olivia's friend. She got off the car and spread her hand out, "My name's Dawn, nice to meet you." and gave Mia the brightest smile she had ever seen. Mia shook her hand and proceeded to help pack her bags in the car. On the way home, the car was full of uncomfortable dead silence so Aunt Olivia decided to fix that. "So Mia, how was your flights? Were they comfortable?" Mia looked up and gave her aunt a basic nod. Then silence filled the car again. "Mia, I don't know if you know but my friend Dawn here will be living with us and she is going to be sharing a room with you." Mia had an awkward smile but she didn't really let the fact that a complete stranger would be sharing a room with her get to her. After a very uncomfortable and quiet ride home they finally got to the house and Mia was just happy to get to bed. A house tour was established and Mia was able to get her things slowly in order. Dawn walked in the room and said, "Hey, I hope me being here doesn't affect you in any way." Mia was confused because she didn't need to say that but she just told her it was no problem. Mia was so glad she was in California and had a whole set of activities early the next morning. She laid in her new bed and tried to go to sleep but... everything just hit her. Her mother wasn't with her and she was all alone in a big place with nothing. She sat up and tears began to fall her cheeks and her heart rhythm became irregular and she didn't know what to do. Dawn minutes later heard the sobbing girl and had the most concerned face, she didn't expect to see Mia, a happy peppy girl (In the hour she knew her)to be crying. Dawn first reaction was to ask Mia what was wrong. At first she wasn't sure if she should tell Dawn her problem because they barely knew each other, but she seemed concerned about her so she did. Mia thought Dawn was going to think she was crazy for crying over such a dumb reason but Dawn understood completely and knew how to comfort her. Aunt Olivia walked in on Mia and Dawn hugging which brought joy to her heart but soon noticed Mia's tears. "Mia are you okay?" Mia explained to her aunt that she was scared about the entire situation but Dawn knew how to comfort her. Aunt Olivia was very happy that they were getting along. Dawn then proceeded to go to bed and so did Mia.
