I aimlessly swung my arm at the alarm clock that has just interrupted my most perfect dream ever. Successfully knocking my alarm off the bed stand. silencing it, I snuggled back into my blanket cocoon. But as I began to drift back into sleep, I heard an unmistakable, unsettling noise that made my stomach churn. I bolted upright, threw off my covers and rushed to the window. Rushed, to where my fears were confirmed. The sound came from none other than a moving truck.

"Sunny!" I yelled as I reached for my phone. Just as I unlocked my screen, the notification sound beeped. I opened the message from Jackie and read it; 'Are you seeing what I'm seeing!?'. I replied with a dreadful 'sadly' and looked out at the window again. I saw four figures come out of the truck. An middle-aged woman, a big guy, a tall boy that looked about my age and a young girl.

The woman was thin and tall. Her attire was made up of a black button up lab coat dress, white gloves and boots, and a hairband with and small old fashioned dark purple hat atop her curly brown locks. Her face was pretty, but also scary with the huge, ear-to-ear smile she wore. She seemed more like a scientist rather than a doctor. Especially with all the lab equipment she was pulling out of a box and inspecting.

The guy was bulky and looked brutish. He wore red plaid under dusty, beaten overalls. His chocolate brown hair was buzz cutted into a military type haircut. He could only have been about 17 or 18 despite the facial hair covering his baby face. He had a very unfriendly look and was almost growling at the girl he had just taken a box from. She said something that must've angered him more because he raised his arm to hit her, but the boy caught his wrist.

The boy twisted his arm behind his back until I heard a loud howl come from the guy. He let go of him and proceeded to carry boxes from out of the truck. He was wearing all black from his hair down to his combat boots. The only splash of color on him was the girl clinging to him. He patted her head, gave her a small box to carry and spun her around, giving her a light push.

The girl happily took the box and skipped along the path into the house. She was a peppy, sweet-looking girl. Although, her light blue dress said she was either from the 1860s or seriously into steampunk. She was short, looked to be around 13. She had that childish glow about her, one that makes you want to pinch her cheeks and give her candy.

I stood there peeking at them through my curtains like, undoubtedly, everyone else in the neighborhood was doing. I watched them for a while, as they moved all their things into their new home. The only thing that seemed off about them was the large somethings under white sheets. Just as I was about stop staring, I got a glimpse of the boy. He locked eyes with me for a second, smirked, then picked up the last box and turned away.

I don't know why, but it startled me. I stepped back too quickly with a high pitched 'Eep!' and fell onto the floor. During my gravitational betrayal, I attempted to stop falling by grabbing my curtains. This resulted in me sitting on the floor, draped in my curtains. "SUNNY!" I yelled again.

There was a loud crash and then a flash of black hair and bright pink jammies in the doorway. Sunny stood there huffing and panting as if she had just run a mile and not ten feet down the hall. She flipped her hair out of her face and huffed "What Aubrey?".

"Didn't you hear the truck? Look." I said, pointing to the window. "Code Red."

She sleepily stumbled towards the window and gasped, "Oh, crap".

I nodded grimly as she walked to where I was still sitting. She removed the curtains from my head, putting them back in their rightful place above the window and pulled me up to my feet. I silently thanked her for not questioning why the curtains were on my head in the first place. She smiled at me before looking back to the window. I looked too as the moving truck pulled away.

"So what do you think will happen this time?" she said softly.

"Who knows? It gets worse every time." I sighed.

She shuffled away from the window and began walking out of my room. Before she left, she stopped, her back facing me and asked, "How many?" I looked back at the window one last time to see the woman rounding the kids into the house and closing the door behind her. "Four." I said sadly. She nodded and walked out.
