I rushed around my apartment searching for my phone. "Where did I put it?" I mumbled searching through the papers on my desk. "I knew I should have organized this before I took a shower," I said aloud. I looked at the clock. 7:33. I needed to be at work by 8:00. I continued my search frantically through my room. As I was shaking my blanket out over my carpet I heard a dull thud. I looked over the side of the bed and there on the pale, pink, fuzzy carpet was my phone.
"Finally!" I gasped out of breath from running all around my room. I looked at the clock again 7:46 it read. I ran to the bathroom and looked in the mirror. I saw my tired bottle green iris' staring back at me under my big blue glasses. From there I trailed up to my shoulder length brown curls. My eyes drifted down to the two black stains in the shape of hands. Mama always said that where you and your soulmate first touch there is a black stain. I rolled my eyes. Nobody believed that story anymore. Not really at least. I looked back at my curls.
"Too late to straighten them now I guess." I shrug as I took off my glasses and grabbed my contact case and started to try to get the contact out. I put my glasses and groaned as I looked at the case. Empty. I sighed and looked at the clock for the third time this morning. 7:50. I grabbed my phone its charger, my purse, and keys as I ran out the door of my apartment.
I jogged through the crowded main street of my hometown. Quickly weaving between the cramped bodies of students, pedestrians and others on their way to work. Just as I was getting close to the flower shop I tripped over my other foot straight into a body. Two hands shot out and grabbed my forearms right where the stains were. After I was stabilized I looked up only to stare into cinnamon colored eyes. I quietly gasped and took a step back. The man seemed to be frozen in place.
"Oh my gosh! I'm so, so sorry. I was just late for work and was rushing! I can't believe that I ran into you. Are you ok? Oh gosh. I'm so sorry." I rambled.
The man chuckled. I looked up and finally realized how handsome he was. He had light brown curly hair and a smattering of freckles across his check. He had a slight smirk on his face showing slight traces of a dimple.
"It's all right. What's your name beautiful?" He chuckled. I blushed at the compliment and looked down at my feet. "Nix" I mumbled. I checked my time. 7:59. I gasped and tried to run away, but before I could, he took my phone and quickly put a number into my contacts
'Alex' it read. "Call me, I want to see you again." he blushed a litter and walked off. I blushed again. I looked back the way 'Alex' ran off to. I put my phone in my pocket and ran to the flower shop. I didn't even notice the colors blossoming across my biceps.
