Lucas POV
I walked into my mum and dad's room they both were the most tragic lovers ever, mom had a thing called single cell cancer that had spread to her whole body...and dad...he looked as though he was dying of grief; turns out your heart can fail if its hurt too much...
and yet I just kept thinking of Ren, her voice that makes anyone listening feel what she feels and her slight body, looking fragile and strong yet light enough to fly away. Her black blue hair, that partially covered her oval face and her eyes looking gold in the light. I felt a pull toward her stronger than the parents I loved all my life! WHY?! Her lips...soft as silk and warm...though she was blushing... I needed to talk to dad, he was so in love with mom maybe I somehow liked Ren a bit like he adored my mother...
"Dad? Could I talk to you?" I whispered, not wanting to wake mum.
"What is it Lucas?" He croaked.
"I met a girl and I feel like she's mine...like I'm hers...but I just met her...hows that happen?"
Dad's eyes actually sparkled and he grinned so wide that I thought he suddenly wasn't grief stricken.
"You've found her...Son you found your mate!! Now you can be happy once...were gone..." He whispered the last part and even then, his voice cracked.
"My..mate? What do you mean...? Dad?"
"She is to you as your mother is to me. She's your other half. You need her."
"I JUST MET HER!!!" I hissed trying to remain quiet for mum's sake.
"Did you feel the 'pull' as soon as you looked into her eyes?"
"Y-yeah."
"That was you imprinting..." he said,"We should talk about my work..."
Ren POV
I woke up with a weird sensation on my hands...sparking and happy. I opened my eyes to see Lucas holding them while looking down with his forehead on the beds edge. I don't know why but my heart was lifted and happy. So I smiled and cleared my throut,
"Ahem, I kinda need those to get out of bed" as I started to scoot he just stared at me like I was glowing...like I was something precious...so I started to blush and look around still feeling his stares
"Good morning" He said cheerily.
"Hi Mr. Stalker" Oh crap he started to pout...it was cute...like a puppy. but I did feel bad so I kissed his cheek...though I wanted to anyways. I don't know why...
Lucas just beamed at me and turned showing me a breakfast of a bagel smeared with cream cheese and butter on one half and strawberry jam on the other. Then there was orange juice and cereal with a small carton of milk, and...a red rose. Now THAT made me even redder... I felt like my heart was flying, then: BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP!!! OH CRAP!! My moniter was going crazy and Lucas was just smirking while he was a bit red I think...just a little, he was a bit tan.
The nurses came in expecting me to be in cardiac arrest or something, once they saw Lucas some smiled and the older ones tsked saying he was "gonna be the death of her..." THAT pissed me off he's my first real companion! So I stared venom at them till they left.
Lucas chuckled, "Well they're gonna think twice bout messin' with you."
I just stuck out my tounge and then started on the cream cheese bagel...trying not to look at the rose so I wouldn't repeat my...moment.
"So why're you here Lucas?" I said between bites.
"I wanted to ask you if you wanted to see if you were up for a visit."
I scoffed, "Well sure I'm fine if you visit, better than them." I pointed toward the door where the nurses left with my thumb.
He chuckled at my scowl directed to the no longer present nurses and said, "No I mean YOU visit some people."
I gulpped at his redness, "Who?"
"My parents are patients here and wanna meet you" He stated bluntly.
Oh boy now I'm scared and I don't know why...but it scares me more than my heart...
