Dais lifted the heavy metronix, then promptly dropped it on his foot.
He screamed, and clutched his foot. He knew he wouldn't be able to go on like this, so he sat on the metronix, a metal-like substance, and took a deep breath. Dais looked around him. He saw his father lifting metronix, much bigger than his. Dais had do get away. He ran towards the gate and put his hand on the solid peloniome gate. It beeped, recognizing his hand, and swung open, revealing the mountains, the ponds, and the sky.
Dais ignored these things, though, and walks straight towards the Master building. The Master building was a grand place, complete with all the latest securities and technologies, including CerubTech, which scanned your brain for possible evil intentions. The most important thing about the master building was that it housed the most important man in the village, The Prime Corcent. He wasn't why he was here. He was here for Scilla.
Dais placed his hand on the door once more. A friendly voice came from all around him, welcoming him. He strode in, puffing out his chest and standing taller. He had to seem important. The guards stared him down, but did nothing to stop him. The CerubTech left them useless, the new technologies would shoot down an intruder before he even put his hand on the door. Dais gave them a sympathetic smile. His family wasn't famous, and the certainly weren't rich, but at least they came home knowing they did something good today. As he walked past them, up the large winding staircase, he thought he saw a camera swivel in his direction out of the corner of his eye. Must be nothing.
He went up to Scilla's chambers. He knocked, and opened the door. She looked up from her uPad, and gave him a small smile. He sat next to her.
"Hey," Dais said, "what are you drawing today?"
Most citizens used uPads for educational purposes, even then, they were expensive and hard to find. Not Scilla, she used it as a drawing pad, and nothing else. When you're the daughter of the Prime Corcent, I guess money isn't an issue. Scylla was wearing a white dress, encrusted with diamonds and other jewels.
She showed him what she was drawing. It looked like a dove, but when he pointed this out, she said,
"No, it's the beginning of a dragon, see? The tail is here, and here are the wings..."
Dais nodded, he could see it now. When he tried to look for the image of the dove, it was gone, he only saw the beginning of a dragon.
