She was bright and colourful
Her wings were beautiful and strong
Blue, red, green, yellow she was a pallete
She was joyful and free
The world was hers to conquer
She was surrounded by friends who cared
She was a spark,she had a vibe
She hopped around with her friends carefree
But all good things come to an end
One day, came a bird catcher with a net
He saw her plumage and knew her worth
Down came the net and caught her
And she was trapped without a doubt
Her panicked friends surrounded her
But nothing they could do
All they did was cry
While he took her away
The bird catcher was in for a fortune
She was very rare and exotic
He didn't realise that he was a thief
His greed blinded him to her grief
And her life was filled with hopelessness
She'd never missed her friends so much
She was bought by a bird collector
And once again surrounded by birds
Only trapped inside a golden cage
With a room full of strangers
Her room was full of chirps
But they were of outsiders
There was no one who could understand her
Or comfort her when she was sad
Her beauty faded inside the cage
Her bright hues were filled
But no one talked to her
Asked her about how she was doing
They were used to the caged life
And didn't mind the silence
They were busy in their own world
And when she died,no body noticed
Free spirits fade away in captivity
