AU: Reader is a shy, service dog that used to have an abusive owner.
You cautiously sniffed at the hand before you. Looking up at the man, you wagged your tail as he pet you.
"I think I'll name you [Y/N]. Do you like that name?" Tony asked, smiling down at you.
You barked, before jumping up and licking his face. Chuckling, Tony lightly patted your head before heading down to his garage. Content, you curled into a ball, quickly falling asleep.
When you woke up, it was much darker than it had been before. Stretching your legs, you shook yourself before heading off in search of your new owner. Trotting around the building, your ears pricked up at the sound of short, gasping breaths. You quickly located your owner. Carefully approaching him, you laid your head on his legs, tilting your head so you could see his reaction.
When he pet you with a shaky hand, you let out a whine, nuzzling closer to Tony. You stayed with him and when Tony's breathing finally returned to normal, you slowly wagged your tail.
"Thanks, [Y/N]. I already know we're going to be best friends," Tony said, smiling.
Barking, you jumped up and covered Tony's face with kisses. Laughing, Tony lightly pushed you off before standing.
"How about some dinner?"
