Haleigh Summers was a jealous girl. Whenever she wanted something, she got it. Lara Jean Covey may have been her best friend, but she would take her down if need be. It was during the first few weeks of Lara Jean's relationship with Peter Kavinsky that Haleigh realized her feelings for him. At first, she was horrified. She couldn't believe that she liked Peter out of all people. How could she? He was one of her closest friends. Not to mention, he was with Lara Jean. She began to feel guilty throughout the next few months. She couldn't hurt her friends. She just couldn't do that. She wouldn't do that. Or so she thought.

Throughout the last semester of the school year, she was starting to get fed up. Lara Jean and Peter would invite her out every few weekends so that she wouldn't feel left out, but she knew. Haleigh knew it was always a date and she was intruding. She was angry that they treated her like a charity case. She was a strong girl, she'd be just fine.

Just when she thought the torture was over, it wasn't. Lara Jean would have her over every so often for dinner and movie marathons, but they never ended up watching the movies. All she talked about was Peter. It was Peter this, and Peter that. Haleigh was sick of it. It was time she told the both of them how she felt. She couldn't keep her feelings bottled up anymore. She didn't want to. The days that led up to her telling Lara Jean and Peter how she felt were coming faster than Haleigh had wanted them to, but she needed to do this.

Lara Jean was annoying her, and Peter, well, Peter was Peter; kind and so incredibly sweet at any waking moment. The timing was perfect because the oh so sickening couple wasn't doing well. Ever since Lara Jean had accused Peter of cheating on some random girl at a party, they'd been fighting. Haleigh smirked at the thought. She was happy. Call her a terrible friend, but she didn't care. Haleigh had one motive only. To destroy Lara Jean Covey and have Peter Kavinsky all to herself no matter the cost.
