Once upon a time, an old man lived in an abandoned castle with his daughter and wife. The castle itself was filled with intricate designs and tapestries. The tapestries, although beautiful told a tragic story.
Long ago when the king Marcus was a prince and lived with his father, the king and his mother the queen, a peasant had come to the castle and requested to speak with the prince's father, King Jonathan.
The Peasant was outraged by the new tax payment that the king had enforced on the kingdom. When the king Jonathan heard of this he laughed mockingly and sent the peasant away.
But little did the king know, he would soon come to regret this decision. The next day when the king awoke everything was completely fine. He stepped out to the beautiful garden that was filled with miles and miles of luscious greenery.
As the king was greeting the farmers he noticed the weather slowly becoming darker and gloomier. It was as if a stormy black cloud had come over the castle. The king glanced down at the bright petunias, they were gradually wilting. The colorful petals were turning colorless. Suddenly the king felt as limp as a rag doll. It was as if he was a puppet on strings, but the strings had broken. He fell to the ground with a thud.
The prince and his mother the queen rushed to the hospital wing as soon as they were informed of what had happened. They were absolutely grieved but along with that grief came a faint feeling of relief. The king had not been a great man.
