"No baby... just a bit tired..."

"You can rest. I'll stay right here..." Jeno gripped her hand a bit more.

"Thank you baby... Thank you."

Her eyes fluttered closed.
Jeno kept watch on her until her breathing became relaxed.
She fell asleep.

"Don't worry, mom..." Jeno brushed a few hairs out of her face. "I just need to cut a string. Then, I'll wish you back  to good health."

If only Jeno could find someone who could see strings.

Hopefully, if he could cut the string of that person, he could ask the goddess for his mom to be healthy again.

But it's not like finding someone like that would be easy... right?

[Jaemin POV]

"Ugh... I'm never asking Jeno to cook again!"

Jaemin was gargling water in the bathroom. He laughed while doing it though.

Jeno was so adorable.

Maybe he should teach the older how to cook.

Wiping his mouth, he went back to his room and sat on his bed. Jeno had left to go somewhere and Renjun decided to go chill with the China line.

Bored, he sat and daydreamed.

"Everyone in this place has a soulmate already..." Jaemin remembered.

Hopefully, he wouldn't have to worry about cutting any of their strings.  It would suck to do that.

"Oh... now that I'm thinking of it, Renjun doesn't have a soulmate..." Jaemin remembered that the Chinese boy had no strings.

He had a red band around a finger of his left hand. Perhaps he hadn't met his soulmate yet..?

People like him were lucky.
They had someone.

Unlike Jeno and himself....
They could see everyone together but they would never have someone.

Maybe that's why Jaemin felt like he and Jeno shared a world.

*I'M ON A HELLEVATO---*

"Hello?" Jaemin answered his phone.

"Is this Na Jaemin...?"

"Yes..?" Jaemin asked warily. "Who is this..?"

"Deputy Lee Taeyoon speaking. We'd like you to come down to the station and answer some questions. We're on the case for your assumed brother, Na Jaemyung."

Jaemin let out a small sigh.

"Sure. Where is the station...?"

---

"Please, sit," the man gestured at the seat.

Jaemin sat down, preparing himself for whatever the officers would ask.

"Hey, are you sure he's the brother? Doesn't look like a bad kid," another man entered.

"He's the one alright," Deputy Taeyoon nodded. "Is it okay that I leave you to this? I got a call I need to take."

"You can leave it to me, Deputy," the other guy smiled.

"No unfair coaxing," the Deputy said. "See ya around, Choi."

The questioning room's door shut.
The place was entirely white, excluding the black tables and chairs in the center.

Jaemin wondered if people were ever driven mad into confessing in this place.
