1 year has passed since Bash and Mary got married. A tragical romance still remains to be seen, hopefully more romance than tragedy. Ever since Anne and Gilbert talked at the wedding Anne was starting to realise that she could see Gilbert as something like a kindred spirit. Not a kindred spirit like her beautiful Diana or Matthew but something else she couldn't quite wrap her head around.
Bash and Mary's non-tragical romance was blossoming and becoming more beautiful everyday. They weren't to have children yet due to Mary's past. They wanted to wait for a bit until they were both ready.
Bash explained this to Anne when she asked when they were having children. Anne's eyes lit up and she felt her heart glowing. That was a clear example of her term 'life mate' like a kindred spirit but something more. She admired Bash and Mary for always supporting each other and how they were equals. They both have a say in where their relationship is, Anne finds this beautiful and hopes she will find her very own life mate who will love and cherish each other.
