Two Months- Solby

~Chapter 1~

Life had been hard for Colby these last couple months. His parents divorced. His brother died. He lost his friends. His life was just falling apart. The only thing keeping Colby alive was music and the hill. He went to the same hill everyday just to clear his mind. To get out every thought of his parents happily married, his brother and him hanging out, and every memory of his friends. To he would sit there for hours on end, just trying to get rid of everything.

The best part of his hill is no one bugged him. It was out of sight and no one came up there. He had it all to himself. Or so he thought.

Colby walks to the hill, blasting music through his headphones. As he got closer he noticed a figure on the hill, just sitting there. The figure's back was turned towards Colby.

"Hello?" Colby calls out, wondering why someone else was up there.

The figure turns around and smiles at Colby. "Hi! I'm Sam." The figured, apparently named Sam, says reaching his hand out for Colby to shake. Colby quickly accepts it, introducing himself.

"Not to be rude or anything but what are you doing up here?" Colby asks as nicely as possible.

Sam smiles slightly, "I just needed an escape for there." Sam says the last word in degust. Colby wonders what 'there' is until he notices the oxygen tank by Sam.

"Do you have cancer?" Colby asks bluntly. "Sorry, I didn't mean to be so blunt"

Sam smiles, "yeah I do. I've had it for a while now. I was getting better, we thought I was done, but it went downhill. I felt pain in my chest, not like a small pain, intense pain. We rushed to the hospital. I was luckily fine, but they told us I don't have long to live..."

Colby listens to everything Sam says, taking it all in. He knew that no matter how long Sam has Colby needs to make him the happiest he's ever been. "How long did they say?"

"Two months"
