"Why does Blake have that mark? It's so feminine, I can't believe it." Roger, my dad, was once again freaking out about my tattoo. I have half of a pink heart.
Everyone in the town of Destiny has half of a tattoo. We all get it in the first few weeks into the world. No one really knows why we get them. Once you find someone with the same tattoo, you become soulmates. I believe in this like most people in Destiny.
"Dad, it's not a big deal. Hey I didn't even choose it! It's not my fault it's feminine" I make my family some breakfast, when my little sister, Leslie decided to tease me about the tattoo.
"Hah! It's a pink heart tattoo on a boy! Blake, You must be gay!" She snickers at me while I roll my eyes.
"Leslie, I'm not gay. Now get me some milk from the fridge" she gets the milk to find it's spoiled. My mom gets up and takes the milk away.
"I'm going to the store tonight. Does anyone need anything else while I'm there?" She dumps the milk down the sink and throws away the carton.
"I don't think we need anything else, mom." I put Dad's coffee on the table in front of him. He just reads the newspaper and snarls
"Marlene, do you believe that two girls have the same tattoo? Even worse, they got married! They shouldn't be putting this stuff in the paper! I mean think about the children! Unbelievable" He shakes his head as he folds the paper and hands it to my mom.
"I don't know, Roger, honey. Kids, get ready to go to school now!" She shakes her head in disappointment as she reads the paper.
I walk out of the room with my head down so no one can see my face. I can't believe my parents would be so mean to a lesbian couple! They did nothing wrong. Those girls can't help that! They are just soulmates.
