Her eyes reddened

Eye bags narrating untold stories

Of her long winded days in the sun

Struggling tirelessly and fervently

Never a word of complaint

From her chapped lips and peeled teeth

Her skin callused

From the humidity and the wind

Perfection in a woman

There she goes

A skip in her step

A soldier in battle

A warrior full of strength

A lioness over her pride

A shepherd watching her sheep

Look at her move

There's war in her eyes

Love in her core

Care in her soul

And purpose in her essence

Bearing the scars of motherhood with pride

She is all I have

And we are everything to her

I know her whole world revolves around us

I know she doesn't eat unless we have

I know she goes to bed dreaming only of us

I know she wakes up every morning with thoughts of us leading her day

I know there's no one in the world

Who loves us as much as she does

Your cries to God at night

Beseeching Him to keep us safe

Your fervent worries

Whenever we are sick
