"Ok look, we have to be quiet," I whispered. Evelyn nodded and took the lead. We began tip-toeing through the horror like forest. Crack! "Evelyn!" I whispered in a furios tone.
"I'm sorry! I didn't mean to," she softly cried. How could I ever stay mad at her adorable face. Her eyes looked like an angel and a puppy had mixed their eyes together! She had tripped over a tree root and was now lying in a heap on the ground.
"Here," I held out my hand and she grabbed it to pull herself up.
"Thanks Eddy," she smiled
"You know I hate it when you call me Eddy!" I complained.
"Ok...Eddy," she smirked then let out a little laugh. I automatically walked over to her and playfully pushed her which caused her to fall over, again. She sprung back up like a rabbit and began attempting to tackle me. Her warm smile won me over and I allowed her to push me over. She burst out in laughter as she fell over after me, so much for being quiet! After she laughed so cutely like that, I wanted to tell her right there and then. She fell on top of me then rolled over next to me. I had to tell her.
We lay there for about 5 minutes before she she shifted a bit closer and held my hand softly.
"Look what we've achieved. We finally escaped from that horrid foster home!" she exclaimed.
"Yes," I replied, " and now we are lying down in what I'm hoping is mud!" I laughed. She laughed with me and it was the cutest thing in the world. I felt so happy that I suddenly blurted it out.
" I have a crush on you!"....
