"I love you too and don't worry, I'll be back. I promise." Hadronia nodded a little to herself. Melaina pulled her head back so she could give her a lasting, passionate kiss. Her hands cupped Hadronia's face and she closed her eyes so hard that Hadronia feared they'd get stuck like that.
"Be safe." Melaina sighed and crossed her arms together tightly.
Once they finished, Hadronia wandered down to the road and sat down in the car Jace had gotten them. She put the bag of her items beside her and leaned her head back until she realized she was in a car. Her eyes instanly examined everything about it, making Jace chuckle lightly.
"You act like you've never been in a car before." He frowned.
"I haven't." She said with a severe tone which made him widen his eyes. "It's so funny looking and... lazy."
"Lazy? How come?" He questioned and kept his eyes on the road.
"Well, we build machines to keep us from walking? That's lazy." She murmured and felt the roof with her hands.
"Well, we don't ride on horses anymore so we need someway to travel long distance fast." He vaguely explained and with that put a thought to her mind. It made her remember that she had godlike stamina which regular humans don't.
"Sorry, I just..."
"Don't apologize, I see your point." He assured her. The rest of the ride was silent, mostly because Hadronia was staring out her window and admiring everything they drove past.
Eventually they reached their destination. Jace exited the car so that she could change into her Themysciran armor and then equip herself with her weapons. She looked at her bracelets of submission with a wide smile and took in how much she'd missed wearing it. No long pants to discomfort her legs, a tight chestplate that kept her in check and a sword at her hip. A small part of her had even missed the black and gold that covered the armor because she'd been wearing so much beige and white lately.
"I'm ready." She spoke up to get his attention and spun her sword multiple times. "But uh, what exactly am I doing and who are we fighting?"
"Oh. I haven't seen roman armor in so long." Jace said before shaking his head and leading her toward a camp. "I'll tell you inside."
Hadronia followed him and pursed her lips. Inside the camp, which was more like a huge tent, men stood circling a large table that had plans and information on it. They were all in deep conversation until they all abruptly stopped and stared at her and then the general.
"What's this?" One of them asked with disgust. Hadronia raised her eyebrows and turned her head to Jace.
"I don't want to hear it, okay soldiers? Miss Hadronia is here to help us and you shall treat her as a fellow soldier." Jace said sternly with his hands behind his back.
"You don't expect us to rely on a woman, do you?" He spat and looked her up and down. In the back of her mind, she could hear Eris whisper, ordering her to put him in his place.
"Hadronia, if you will?" Jace simply said, motioned in front of her with a hand. He hadn't seen her in action yet but he was fully confident in her.
With a sly smile, Hadronia stepped forward and challenged the soldier by wiggling her fingers to make him step forward. The soldier scoffed before he accepted and approached her. He did the mistake of harshly throwing a punch that allowed her to grab his arm, throw him down to the ground beneath her and then keep him there with her knee against his chest. To further prove her worth as a soldier, Jace picked up his gun and shot at her before the soldier had even landed on he ground. She quickly raised her arms and let the bullet bounce of her bracelet.
