"Alya! Oh my gosh, you came back to visit! I thought you'd forgotten about us!" My best friend Bella says running but to me. "How could I ever forget about my best friend! I just came to look around before I decide." I say backing out of the hug. She looks me over. "Have you lost your mind! This is where you belong! With me. With us. Right here." She says pointing around.

"You didn't even have to choose because your family is here. Only half of my family is here. It's like I have to choose between my parents." I say sighing. It felt good to tell someone my worries but at the same time. How was she supposed to understand? She's had her whole life planned out for her.

"Well on a happier note! Look at my wings!" She says excitedly letting her wings fluff up from nowhere. They were white with silver laced in a perfect pattern. "You see I got a letter from Grayson himself! Asking for me to go down to his house! When I showed up he laced my wings with silver showing my bond to the light side! He told me 'if you like I could but in some light blue but that would come with the second level' you know the levels right?" She finishes catching her breath. "Of course! It's the same on both sides other then the leaders are different and the tasks are different. Level on you've bonded to a side, level two you're put into a community group that cleans up one part of the town or does some other small job, level three leader of the group you were put in, level four working with the leader, level five leaders wife." I explain simply.

Her eyes grow wide. "How did you know that?" She asks mouth opened wide. "I've traveled from side to side for some time." I shrug her off. "Well come on I'll show you to Grayson and you can meet him!" She says excitedly skipping down the street I giggle and follow her.

All the houses had perfectly cut grass, everything was clean, the cars were the same, and the houses were the same. Everything in this town seemed very in place. We get to the end of the road when only one house was left on the road she walked up to it and knocked on the door.

The door swings up showing a very good looking guy with a smile across his face. "Bella you've come back so soon!" He says giving her a big hug. When he pulls away he notices me. "And you brought a friend! Are you here to bond?" He asks smiling hopefully at me.

"No, actually I'm just here visiting." His eyes go dark for a second so I continue "I haven't decided yet." I say shyly rubbing my arm. "Well is your family here?" He asks curiosity sparking in his eyes. "No, actually half of my family is here the other half on the other side." He looks thoughtfully at me for a moment then his eyes go dark again.

"Well, I hope you choose the right side in the end."

After we finished talking to Grayson Bella walked me to the border where we said goodbye. Then I walked into the dark side.

"Look who finally came back." I hear a voice come from a tree. Then a pair of strong arms wraps around me in a hug. "Welcome back!" A second voice says. They pull back from the hug and it was Fang my oldest friend. Then my other best friend Briar steps up. The first voice I heard.

"Finally joining the dark side?" Briar asks with a small flick of hope in her eyes. I sigh loudly "No just came to choose." I say calmly Fang glares over my shoulder at the light side. "I can't see you going over to that side." He hisses through his teeth.

Then he backs down a little "But I get why you're having trouble deciding." Then they glance at each other. "Ethan won't like this," Briar says glancing behind her. "We better take her to him before he finds out," Fang says starting to walk down the street. "Stay close to us these people aren't your friends," Briar says glaring at the people along the street.

All the people we walked by either gave us hostile glances or ignore us. The houses were a little more run down then the others. Some were worse than others but some looked fine.

Brair and Fang started to walked faster as Ethan's house came into view. By the time we got there, the door swung open. "Bring her inside and leave," Ethan says from the doorway. Brair and Fang walk up to the door as I walk to catch up. When I get to the door Ethan pulls me inside and shuts the door.

He leads me into a fancy living room. He sits down in a chair then points for me to sit. "Why have you come here from the light side?" he asks glaring at me with intense hatred. "I'm trying to choose which side I want to..." I start before Ethan cuts me off. "Why can't you choose! Your family is either on this side or the other you can't just run around 'picking' sides!" He yells standing from his chair.

At that moment I lost it. All the anger and hate I had in me came out like a flood. I stood up and let it all out. "You have no idea what I've been through! Both of my parents died because they were on different sides! My family is divided into both sides! Where do I want to go?! Hell if I know! I just wish this was easier! But it's not." I sigh then sit back down.

Ethan does the same. "I now see why you feel like you have to choose. But you have to understand this is more than just family. This about you no one else. Don't forget that. This is for you."
