Mum forgot to wake me up for the third day this week. I didn't need her though. I had three coffees and was on my phone all night in the hope I wouldn't fall asleep. It worked and all but I'm exhausted and was lying in bed for 20 minutes before I noticed I was really, and I mean really late for school.
Mr Cooties decided not to acknowledge my late entrance. Since the door is right at the front of the math class everyone went into silence as I walked in. I think it's a natural reflex. We all want to make sure whoever walks in the door isn't another teacher, and to their pleasant surprise, it was just me. Same old late fourteen-year-old Charlene, late for the fourth time this week.
"I thought you were dead for a second Char!" Jhondy looks as tired as I am. It's for different reasons though. He can't study until late at night because his parents are arguing throughout the day. I feel really bad for not being there for him last night. He couldn't come to my house last night like he usually does, because Mum had brought home another man from the club. I think he needs me just as much as I need him. I need him. He's the only one that knows. The only one that believes in whats going on in my head.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------School had the same effect as carrying a bag of bricks around all day. Painful, annoying and really tiring. I stared at the clock until math ended, I just wasted 15 minutes of my life. Would have wasted 50 if I arrived at school when I was supposed to. As soon as the bell to the second period rang, I ran out as if fear was chasing me. Like shadows were following close behind.
"WAIT UP U IDIOT!", yelled out Jhondy, until he realised Mr Cooties was watching him. Mr Cooties isn't actually his name, it's Mr Cooper, Jhondy and I decided to give him an appropriate nickname. When Jhondy was over for dinner at my place, Dad called our math teacher "Mr Cooties" while asking how school was, and it kinda just became our thing. Once, Jhondy accidentally called out "Mr Cooties, I don't know the answer to this stupid ass question" which scored him a date with detention.
I ended up making it to the second period, I had music, Jhondy wasn't in that class so I always have to sit with these annoying girls. My brain always tells my arm to punch them, but my other arm always stops it. They always ask about Jhondy. Noriel and her friends, Penelope and Chloe especially. Every girl in the school would always get hyped up talking about him. They would always tell me how lucky I was to be his friend. I never looked at him as my friend, to me he was more than a friend.
Music went on like usual, Noriel, being the best while the other two looked up to her. I never really gave a shit about anything. They do there best to avoid me. They take pleasure in saying things about me but their karma will come, eventually.
