Princess Autumn POV
I groaned as I stared out my castle window. Tomorrow is my seventeenth birthday and I know mom and dad are keeping something from me. I know that I'm a witch, I have all my powers and I'm one of the most powerful ones in my country somehow at sixteen. I'm also half vampire. There was a knock on my door and my father entered.
"Autumn, we need to talk." He said, sitting on my bed.
I sat next too him.
"Midnight tonight, you will be visited by Prince Jesse of the Vampire Knight clan. You are half vampire, and you will become a full vampire when Prince Jesse turns you. You will be a hybrid. Full witch but full vampire at the same time. I am not sure how this will effect your vampire genes but we have kept you in hiding long enough. Next week we are having a ball to introduce you as our daughter and Princess. I am sorry I didn't tell you sooner, dear. I just didn't know how." He sighed and looked down.
"Oh, father don't fret. Freedom is what you're giving me and that is the best thing you could ever do for me!" I hugged him tight.
He smiled at me.
"Dress in something black dear. I'll have the maids fetch a few options that are vampire appropriate. Even though you have your mothers eyes and hair, you have my complexion and black looks good on us." He grinned.
A half hour later I was dressed in a black corset dress. My black hair was hanging down for once, usually I wore it up. My tiara sat on top of my head. It was midnight in ten minutes. I rang for my father.
"Yes, dear?" He asked.
"Please have Prince Jesse meet me in the garden." I requested.
"Alright. I'll see you in the morning."
I nodded and went to the garden. At exactly midnight he arrived. He was handsome. Talk, dark brown hair and blue eyes.
"You have questions. I will answer any that I can. My name is Prince Jesse Hart. I belong to the vampire knight clan. Besides you, I am the only other vampire by birth. I am a hybrid like you, Autumn. Full vampire and full fairy. I am two hundred years old and I have not found a mate in my lifetime. My mother is dead and my father rules the clan so far, and I am next in line. I was chosen to turn you because of our similarities."
I smiled at him. I liked him instantly, and he smiled back and held out his hand and I took it. We walked, holding hands and it felt strangely natural.
"Normally vampires are turned by blood transfusions by me drinking your blood and you drink mine. It's been done by the wrist for centuries. But I would like to try from the neck if that's alright with you."
"That's fine, Prince Jesse."
He smiled at the formalities.
"Please just Jesse."
"Then you may call me Autumn."
We sat in my family's graveyard, hidden behind a weeping willow.
"I'm ready Jesse." I said, and pulled my hair away from my neck so it was bare.
His lips grazed my neck, and it felt like he kissed me but I wasn't sure. Then a small pinch and there was this amazing feeling like I was flying. It lasted only a minute unfortunately. Then it was my turn. He made a small cut on his neck and I drank from him until he said it was enough. Then my body started glowing. I was transforming into a full vampire. My vision got crystal clear, even in the dark. I felt stronger and faster. I opened my mouth to feel for fangs and there they were. I felt amazing. I laughed joyfully and hugged Jesse. He hugged me back.
"I didn't know I would feel this amazing ! Thank you so much. I would like to invite you to the ball my father is having next Tuesday to introduce me. They feel it's time. Please come." I smiled.
He nodded and bowed .
"Until then, Princess..." and then he was gone.
I was breathless. He was breathtaking. I couldn't stop thinking about his lips on my neck. Was it a kiss? Or just my imagination? I didn't know.
Prince Jesse POV
I burst into my fathers room.
"Father! There is something wrong with me. I demand to know what it is."
He smirked.
"Tell me son, what is it now?" He asked.
"That girl I was ordered to turn. Princess Autumn. When I saw her she was glowing purple. And for some reason I held her hand! It felt natural. And the blood transfusion? I did it through her neck because it felt right. What's wrong with me?" I cried.
He was at me in an instant and looked me in the eyes.
"I was wondering when this would happen, son. This is what happens when a vampire finds his or her mate. With you being a hybrid I wasn't sure if it would happen. But apparently it can. And she is a hybrid as well, and I assume she may feel the same for you, son. We have been invited to King Devon's ball to introduce her. We are going. You should try to see how she feels. When you find your mate and you get that bond for life, it's amazing son. Your mother and I had it and she will always be my Rosa. My heart. My love."
I was speechless.
"I finally found her..." I whispered.
