Chapter one

Eloise Truewing lives in the institute in Paris for years. Her mother died when she was six and her father died six months later of grief. She had no family left. The first days in the institute were hard she was crying every night because she was all alone. But then she met Rose, Rose slept at the room next to her. She was the same age as Eloise and they became friends and not long after best friends. At the age of 12 Rose and Eloise became parabatai.

Eloise! Hey! Are you still sleeping? Rose runs into Eloise' room. I'm awake now. Eloise yawned. Its a special day Eloise and you are sleeping till like afternoon? I'm so tired Rose an...Its your birthday Ellie!!! Happy 16th birthday! Oh and there is no demonic activity so we can celebrate your birthday without seraph blades and blood. Eloise jumped out of bed. By the angel how could i forget that? Get dressed Truewing i've made a really delicous breakfast and you have to get quickly or my little brothers eat everything and you know them they leave nothing for you. Rose runs out of the room. Eloise did not care much about clothes, not even on her birthday. She graps a pair of jeans of her closet and pulls a gray t shirt on. She looks at herself in the mirror. What she could remember from her mother was that she was very pretty. Unfortunately, she had not inherited it from her. Her hair falls like straw past her face and her eyes were were as boring as it could be just gray like the sky on a rainy day. She was the opposite from Rose. Rose had long shiny blonde hair and absolutely beautiful deep blue eyes. Yes her eyes were the prettiest of all. Eloise!! The eggs are getting cold! She was startled by her thoughts. That was my problem the last weeks or months I can only think how pretty Roses eyes are and how perfect her smile is. And I don't know what it is, maybe i do know what it is but I don't want to admit it to myself.

Wow how much time does it take to put on a shirt and trousers? Rose gave her a friendly push. Well you always say that I should pay more attention to my appearance, so I took a shirt from the pile without holes. Rose grinned. You have to put something on with more colors or with a print and... Eloise interrupted her. Rose we are shadowhunters not models from the Paris fashion week. Rose, its her birthday let her wear what she wants. Eliza Ashbraid entered the kitchen, Eliza was the mother from Rose, her 2 little brothers and her little sister. Mom?! When did you came back from Idris? Rose walked to her mother and gave her a hug. Did you think I was not coming to  Eloises's birthday? Happy birthday! Eliza walked to Eloise and gave her a kisshe on her cheek. Thank you Eliza. Eloise sat down again. But thats not the only reason I came back.  Jay, Aiden and Lydia this is not for children so please go out of the kitchen.  The kids immediatly started protesting. Mom I'm 12 I'm old enough. Lydia planted her hands in her waist. Okay Lydia you can stay ,but Jay and Aiden go! Mom! Please boys. She puts her hands on her face and she suddenly looked very tired. The twins saw it to and they walked out of the kitchen. Sorry Eloise that this might ruin your birthday but the institute in Londen, Rio and Bejing have been attacked. What?! Rose straightened her back. Who did it? Eloise looked at Eliza. We don't know. Are there no clues or something? The clave is looking for it but nobody found something. What are we gonna do now? Thats it Lydia we don't know. What we do know is that you have to pack your stuff because we're going to Idris. What why? Because the wards are reinforced twice and we don't know if the attacker is going to attack again. So again, pack your stuff I get the twins. The portal is opens at 4 o'clock. Rose walked to Eloise. Sorry Ell that you have a bad birthday. The only good thing is that we're going on a trip. It has not a good reason but still.
