She was in her house, but something was wrong, really wrong. There was a pentagram right where she was standing, it was drawn with blood from someone she didn't know. Her outfit was stained with blood, her hair matted and dirty. She wanted to scream but she couldn't, her throat dry from fear, what if when she screamed it would awake the thing?

"What if the thing did the same thing they did to her parents?" She thought while glancing over to her parents, they were slumped on the floor, their eyes gouged out and pentagrams that were upside down carved on their chests. She wanted to scream so bad.

Suddenly she heard rustling and she felt like she wanted to faint, it was here. She heard a murmur that sounded a lot like "Culte." which she recognized was the french word for cult. She closed her eyes and stayed completely still, hoping that perhaps it may leave her alone, which of course was only false hope she made up to comfort her.

She thought of crosses, churches, and exorcisms, hoping that thinking these things might keep the thing at bay. She felt hot tears run down her cheeks and she felt like she wanted to scream, cry, and throw things out of fear, but she stayed still, knowing if she did any of these things the thing would definitely get her. So she stood there, frozen in fear while tears ran down her face.

The thing kept muttering, but it got louder as time progressed. She wondered how long she had been standing in the middle of the pentagram. She remembered how a normal night had turned into this. Her and her mom were in the middle of dinner, their dad was in his study, doing work. Then one thing led to another and here she was, in a pentagram, waiting for her demise.

She heard a loud creeeaak and she held her breath. The thing noticed her. The muttering turned into chanting, the chanting turned into a booming voice, the booming voice turned into a scream. She burst out sobbing and didn't care anymore if the thing heard her, all she cared about right now was staying alive.

"P-p-please don't hurt me! I will do anything!" She begged while sobbing. She begged to any higher power that may be out there to help her damn it!

The chanting stopped and she thought maybe the thing listened to her. She waited for a bit and listened to see if she heard anything, but all she heard was the roar in her ears. She then realized she had a stabbing pain in her knee and felt something run down her leg, she was bleeding. She couldn't focus on that right now though, all she could focus on was is making sure the thing wasn't there. She was too afraid to open her eyes because she was scared that when she did the thing would be right in front of her, ready to attack her.

After many minutes passed she finally got the courage to open her eyes. She scanned her surroundings and realized nothing was there. She wanted to cry out of relief, though she still felt to scared to move. She looked over at her parents and wanted to throw up, what had the thing done to them? She knew they were dead, she wondered if the thing made them suffer for long or if as soon as the thing did those things to them they allowed them to die instantly.

Then she heard something move behind her and her eyes widened. Her adrenaline screamed at her, the familiar roar in her ears returned. Very cautiously, she turned around, and instantly regretted her decision and called herself a "typical girl in a horror movie." At first everything seemed normal, but she saw something out of the corner of her eyes. It looked like a mass of blackness. Then mutterings broke out.

At first she couldn't make out what they were saying, it sounded like a jumble of words being screamed at her. It hurt her ears listening to them, she felt tears run down her face again. Just make it stop! But then she heard what they were saying, and she felt even more scared, if that was even possible. But then suddenly it made out clear words.

"Goodbye my child." Was the last thing she heard.

The screaming could be heard from miles away.
