Enchanting chapter three part two

"Oh dear."

The shop had seemed cozy enough when she moved in. When the light of the morn showed through the windows, and the sounds of bustling customers and a barking dog had filled her ears. At that time she liked no place better. It was only when the sun dropped in the sky and the pretty stars showed themselves to the world that Eldrevedora began to feel uneasy. The roof blocked out all of the starlight and Eldrevedora found herself lighting a candle for the first time in her life. It had taken her quite a while to find the contraption that she was meant to sleep in, and now that she had found it she was immensely dissapointed. She hadn't actually tried it. The prospect was slightly frightening. Surely you were supposed to sleep on the ground. Still, she told herself. You wanted to be human. Timidly, she sat on the edge of the bed. The cushion sank with her weight. Odd, she thought. Why would someone sleep on something like this? As she lay down, she soon realized why. It was quite comfortable, when you got used to it. She closed her eyes.

"Eldrevedora." She opened her eyes. In front of her stood her mother, beautiful as ever.

"Oh, mother!!" she exclaimed. "I must tell you about my first day! Oh, it's just so lovely here!"

"There isn't much time." Mineveldra warned her. "I can only stay in your dream for a bit. I must show you something."

Eldrevedora saw many things before her. Many cruel things. There was man killing another man, and a man saying cruel, heartbreaking things to a woman. Always the same man, always the same cold blue eyes. Oh, he was beautiful alright. Beautiful enough to shatter the heart of any woman and put her under a dangerous spell, which could not be broken by anything. The spell of true, unconditional love. And as beautiful as those eyes were, no love showed out through them. He was an evil swine of a human being. Immediately Eldrevedora hated him. Oh, his beauty Intrigued her, but she couldn't get past the icy blue eyes and all that was behind them.

"What a monster! Mother, why are you showing me all of this?"

"I had a vision."

With horror, Eldrevedora saw what the stars had shown her mother. She was making love with this man. This cruel, horrible pig of a man. She was telling him over and over that she loved him. She was giving everything she had to him... submitting.

"Never!" she cried, her voice laced with fury.

"Good, darling. I don't want his to happen, ever. Do you understand me?"

"Yes, mother."

"Good."

And the dream vanished.
