•Jack's POV
Saturdays. Everybody loves them, including me. Saturday night is Party Night!
"Hey, Jack." He greets as he adjusts his glasses.
Ah! Finally! I thought I'd wait an hour at his doorstep while he reads a book that is too good for him to put down. Trust me, it happened once.
"Don't make a mess, Jackson. My sister is coming over to drop something off." He says before my butt even touches his couch.
"Me? Making a mess? Really, Hic? You've known me since forever—," he cuts me off.
"Stop with that crap, Jack. I'm serious, my sister is as OC as I am. Maybe even more. I already have dad nagging me to get a girlfriend, the last thing I want is for Elsa to lecture me about personal hygiene." He grabs his book and pushes me aside so that he can sit down.
"Yeah, yeah, I know. I've met her. So, d'you wanna go to a party?" Please say yes, please say yes.
"So you can avoid your girlfriend? I don't think so." He glares at me. Him knowing me better than myself isn't exactly helping my situation right now.
"Come on, Hic! Please!" I flash him my puppy eyes and killer smile, it should work. It always gets the ladies.
"Stop it Jack, you look like a hippo who's gonna take a jobby." He looks at me with disgust before he continues, "your poor girlfriend is gonna be waiting for you."
"What the fuck is a jobby?" He shakes his head. "I'm not going with you, Jack."
"Come on, just this once. I don't want to face Mer. Dude, you know how she is after a fight with her mum!"
She can be really grumpy and annoying after her fights with her mom.
"Jobby is Scottish slang for shit." He smiles and continues reading, trying not to laugh. He just ignored my plea like that?
"Here comes trouble!" My phone rang. I glance at Hiccup one more time. He shakes his head while his eyes were still glued to the book, I sigh.
"Jack? Can you come over?" I put it on speaker as I plead Hiccup using my face, asking him to save my stupid ass.
"Meri baby, I don't think I can come. I..." I look intensely at this sorry excuse of a best bud. He leaves his couch and I, forever. Forgetting our whole twenty years of friendship.
"Jackie, put your phone down!" Hiccup mocks a girl from the kitchen. You know those bitchy, slutty, high-pitched voice of those cheerleader girls in highschool? I expect nothing less from the king himself. The king of impersonations.
"Jack? Who was that? Where are you?" She questions.
"Mer, this isn't really a good time. You see, I'm heading to a party with Hiccup." I wink at him and he rolls his eyes.
"With girls?" She raises her voice but stops and sighs and hangs up.
"Whoa, did she just hang up like that?" Hiccup raises his eyebrow. I nod. Merida doesn't hang up like that, she usually screams something like 'I'm gonna whoop yo ass!'. Nah I'm kidding, Merida never talks like that, but she does scream alot.
"Dude, I bet she's tired of putting up with you. Do her a favor and break up with her." He sips his coffee that I had no idea when he made.
"Like now?" I grab my phone but he glared daggers at me.
"Not now, you idiot. But do it soon. Face it, you both aren't happy with the relationship anymore."
I sigh. I hate it when Hiccup's right, which is almost all the time—screw that. He's always right—. The past few weeks were just filled with Mer and I fighting.
"Alright, but... that comes with a price." I grin.
He raises his eyebrow yet again, I'm surprised it didn't leave his face.
"You let me hit on your sis." And just like that, ladies and gentlemen, the "Paper Towns" book by John Green collided with my face.
"And get you to break her fragile heart? No. Fucking. Way." If looks could kill, my body would probably be undergoing autopsy by now.
The doorbell rang, which brings a smirk to my face and two words on my mind. She's here.
"Speaking of the angel." I purposely say to make Hiccup really pissed.
He runs to the door and said seven words that sent shivers down my spine. "You mess with my sister, you're dead."
•Hiccup's POV
"Hey, Hicc!" She kisses my cheek. Typical. "Elsie," I chuckle as I ruffle her hair which probably took her hours to do, judging from her glare. She swats my hand away and smiles and I return it. We don't see each other much, so having her here heals my headache that I got from Jack.
Her smile fades as soon as she see's Jack on my couch. "What's he doing here?" My sister states, clearly annoyed. She had no problem with Jack, she's only annoyed about the fact that he's a bit of a player. Okay, he's more than just 'a bit of a player.' He's a major player.
I had no idea why but my sister's fist was against my chest for a second. It hurts, I mean, I'm not exactly all muscle.
"Ow! What was that for?"
She glares at Jack, and then me, then Jack, then back to me.
"So this is the party huh?"
I froze. Jack obviously had no idea what that meant, why am I even surprised?
"What? Wanna party with me, Chrystal?" Jack smirks. Wrong move, I told him not to hit on my sister, yet he does it anyway.
He was about to face the cover of the Paper Towns book when Elsa beat me to it my slamming her heels against Jack's foot.
"That's what you both get for lying to my bestfriend!" Elsa crosses her arms. That's when Jack got it. Since when was this Merida her bestfriend?
"I... Uhm I'll apologize to Mer—" she cuts him off.
"Shut it mister, I'm surprised she hasn't killed you yet." Elsa scowls.
"Anyway, here's your watch." She hands Jack the watch.
"I thought you said you were gonna give me something, not him!"
"I was at Merida's house. She said Jack left it at her house when he last came over. I thought that I can just give this to you so that you can give it to him, but now that he's here. Yeah..."
"And you!" She points at me. "Get yourself a girlfriend! Dad's birthday is coming up and he says he wants a grandchild as a gift!" She glares but then her look softens. "Please Hiccup, I gotta go now. If you can't give him grandchildren, then atleast give him a daughter-in-law."
"Why don't you get a boyfriend?" Of course I didn't let her hear that. Elsa is a strong, independent woman. Plus, she isn't the eldest soooo...
"Bye, I love you!"
"So, are we up for that party?"
"Heck yeah."
