Ive hurried this short story by allot. Just a little impatient.....really wanted to jot it down before I lose interest or forget. I know it may not seem interesting, but I've been thinking about this story for a long time. Been having a hard time thinking of a plot.......and finally......thought of one.

I'm about to spoil the story, but I'm not sure if I'll finish it anyway. I want people to know where I'm going with it, however. So I think the spoiler is worth it, because even if I don't finish the story, I believe the spoiler is worth a read.

So this is what I'm thinking, Shakai is a sociopath, and doesn't know it. He remembers being in a mental institution on and off again through his childhood. His mom sought out therapy for him as well. Ever since he was a kid, he had traits of insanity. But one day when he wakes up from an accident, he can't remember anything that happened recently. He can't remember who or what caused the gash in his stomach....or the burn marks around the gash. His girlfriend, Sequa offers to help him regain his memories, and help him lead a normal life....or as normal as it can be.

Basically in a nutshell, Shakai holds a sword called Shard. The sword, ironically has the supernatural power of using memories as fuel. Every memory loaded into the sword charges its power incredibly. The level of power the sword receives is determined by the importance of the memory. For example...if he charged the sword with the memory of his favorite color, his sword may ignite a small flame when the blade is struck against something (even something soft.) However..........if he loads the memory of killing his girlfriend with the sword, into Shard, the power may be so great that it could burn a hole right through him....that's right, the hero of the story is a murderer. The story is about him protecting the world from evil, by destroying those who pose against him, however, his insanity takes ahold and rots his mind to where he trusts no one. Until he finally kills her.  With sorrow and realization of what he had just did, and decides to kill himself. But just in case he survives, he decides to feed the sword with the memory of the girlfriend he had loved so much....specifically, the memory of killing her. So what may not make since, is why is his girlfriend trying to help him after he comes out of a coma....simple...she's a ghost. Only he can see her. What happened, is she loved him so much, that she wanted to be with him forever, to always watch over him. She pardoned his murder of her, knowing that it was his sickness what really killed her. My take on an anime true-love story.

I don't know if I'll do anything with this story ever, but it has too much potential to stay in my mind. After all, I never know when I may die, myself.

The Story

Shakai Byō, an average Japanese teenager awakens from a coma in Kenshi North Toho Hospital. Surprised he regained consciousness, doctors swarm the tired boy, repeatedly asking questions and examining him. Shakai repeats the words "Garasu Imoide", and immediately blacks out. Shakai awakes again, this time in his bedroom in Toho. Forgetting how he got there, he fumbles out of bed, and stumbles down the hall. Catching his mom's attention just in time, he calls for her. She turns around, away from the door and exhales in relief.

"Shakai....I was just heading off to work, I was having Kari watch over you while I was gone." His mother says, reaching out to hug him.

She embraces him tightly, rubbing his hair.

"I've been so worried.....I've missed you so much!" She started crying.

Shakai melted. He didn't know what had happened, but he knew two things. One, he loved his mother more and wouldn't want to worry her for anything, and two, his stomach was in piercing agony.

"What....what happened..." He asked.

His mother gulped in dread. Her eyes continuing to drench in tears.

"You were dying.....the paramedics found you bleeding out...."

"Bleeding out?" He asked.

"You had a crater in your stomach. There was no weapon or deadly chemicals at the scene. The authorities still do not know what happened to you. However, I'm so glad you're safe."

Garasu Imoide......glass memories..... He thought.
