i sometimes wonder

How does it make you feel?

To know that you were stressing over how your coffee was spilt early this morning

While a kid in the abandoned streets of Gaza gasped his last breath

Stood by his head was a soldier, I’d like to call him a robot

For he walks around with discarded emotions, killing everything in his way

Acting by instinct, Palestinians are the enemies… right?

But in fact, the truth that lies underneath all of these wrong realities is

His self is his enemy,

And I sometimes wonder

If that happened to his child? How would he feel?

And I sometimes wonder what would happen if he was able to identify the realism behind his emotionless exterior

But then I remember, it isn’t an exterior

It is simply his cruel, twisted brain

barking out orders towards his useless, grave heart.
