Georgie and Elvis: What Ifs

Chapter 1: Confessions

Georgie has just completed a 14 week tour along side Elvis, whom is planning to confess that he may be in love with her.

Elvis was "In a relationship," sort of...well he was before he met Georgie anyways. It was nothing serious, just a few dates but she seemed to really like him. Elvis wasn't the kind of guy to mess girls around, he really did feel bad about dumping this other girl for Georgie but he really couldn't help it, she felt like more than just a few dates, she felt like his future.

Elvis has always been the type to be overly confident in himself, he was sure of himself, nothing fazes him...well, nothing except Georgie, there was something about her that made him feel uneasy.

Georgie and Elvis have just finished their 14 week training exercise in Afghanistan, for the entire 3months she's all he could think about, he knew he wasn't letting her walk out his life, he needed her like he needed air, she was his kryptonite.

Georgie bothered him, she wasn't like any other girl he'd come across, she wasn't falling at his feet like the others, she wasn't fazed by Elvis at all, her disinterest made him want her more.

Elvis POV:

It's the final day of our training exercise and we are preparing to go back to the UK, I have also been preparing to confess my feelings to Georgie. I know she won't be easy, that im going to need to chase her but that's the part that excites me most...the thrill of the chase. I want what I know I can't have...can't have without some serious effort anyways.

"Hey, Georgie...I'm going straight to Nigeria from here, so I was wondering if maybe you wanted to see me when we got back to the UK?"

"No" Georgie says, looking completely unbothered.

"NO?...nobody says no to me" I replied, clearly not expecting her response to be so negative. I mean look at me! Surely she's just playing hard to get.

"2 golden rules in life Elvis...1) never go out with a solider and 2) never go out with someone who's already taken, sorry" she says.

I'm starting to believe that maybe she's genuinely not into me...well that's got to change.

Without a second thought I take out my phone and begin texting the girl who's soon to be my ex...

"Debs, I've found the woman of my dreams on this tour, think I've fallen in love with her therefore you and I are no longer an item. Elvis"

Georgie looks at me, clearly not expecting me to dump someone without a second thought. I'm getting the impression that she thinks I'm a bit of a player. I'll change her mind soon enough.

"bit harsh" she says with a hint of a smile.

"I've only been out with her twice, she'll get over it. Well possibly, I mean can anyone ever really get over the gorgeous Elvis Harte?" I laugh.

Georgie rolls her eyes at me, clearly not amused by how much I admire myself. She'll begin to love me soon enough, everyone does.

After I've completed the text I hand my phone to her.
"there ya go...press send"

Without missing a beat Georgie says  "Do your own dirty work"

For the first time in my life I'm speechless. This girl really has a hold over me. I quickly send the text and begin trying to get Georgie to go out with me, again.

"There you go, I sent it and she would've gotten it by now so I'm not taken anymore...go out with me?" I say, sounding more desperate than I had planned.

"Sorry, rule number one still stands, no going out with soldiers" she outlines.

"Actually I'm special forces, rule 1 only applies to squadies, surely." I look at her hopefully.

She smiles and says nothing.

"Cmon...I'm in love with you. I'm not just saying it, I mean it. I am completely, 100% without a doubt in love with you. I swear I'm going to marry you one day" this was unusual for me, putting my heart on the line like this but right now I don't care. I want her, I need her...she's all I've been able to think about for months, there's no way I'm leaving this place without her at least letting me take her on a date.

"The thing is im exactly the wrong type for you Elvis, I have no intention of settling down, ever." She says as she walks away. This is going to be harder than i thought.

Georgie POV
There's no way I'm going out with him, he's so full of himself. "He's in love with me" I bet he says that to all the girls.

I mean don't get me wrong, he's gorgeous, interesting and funny but something gives me the impression that he's a player. I think I'll miss this one out.
