Opinions, short stories and more about the fun little world Mattel cou...
I admire Duchess Swan for working hard even though she has a horrible future awaiting, not caring about what people think about her (mostly but still). These are my other reasons:
-We both cannot stand Apple White, and Duchess tries her best to be the person she wants to be
-Duchess appreciates and strengthens her dancing talents
-She uses her skills and her knowledge wisely and to her advantage
-She is human, makes mistakes, and cares about Lizzie Hearts (as shown in Suzanne Selfors's book Next Top Villain)
I also observe Duchess as relatable from the bitter, conflicted, and envious sides of her personality that are only what show upon the surface. I think Duchess is misunderstood. It's hard for me to see how she is portrayed as a villain in many episodes for being unable to have her only chance at happiness and find this heartbreaking because of her amazing character development.

Well, my favorite overall is Madeline 'Maddie' Xylophone Hatter. The daughter of the Mad Hatter, who is my favorite EAH parent character. (Her middle name is weird, I know, but that's one of the reasons why I love her so much...)

Why? I honestly can't see why people don't like Maddie. I have many reasons for why she is my favorite and why I think Madeline's the best character.
For one, she stays true to herself throughout the series and encourages her bestie Raven Queen to do the same and follow her heart. She is weird, but I say that is something that makes her a beautiful person in her own way. There are a lot of characters who treat each other unfairly and judge their peers but Madeline isn't one of them; which I adore.
I learned a lot from Maddie and was taught to always be myself because I was exposed to characters like her as a kid. She encouraged me to love myself and all of my quirks the same way Monster High did for me growing up.
She's adorable, lovable, nonjudgmental, caring, genuine, original, and an absolute sweetheart. I love how she reminds me of me in her own ways and the little quirks Maddie has that she doesn't change or want to change. Her personality is colorful in the best way possible.
Also, I just think Maddie was the best girl. Madeline stands strongly by her beliefs and what she thinks is right. She makes Ever After High interesting in her own way and proves herself valuable multiple times by her Riddlish and connections to the Narrators in the EAH universe.
Maddie just wants to be happy and wants everyone around her to be happy as well. She doesn't care as much about tradition as she does her loved ones and making sure they are happy with what they have going for them.
NOW onto my least favorite(s)...

I say least favorites because I dislike multiple characters in the EAH universe. Mainly from the 'Royals' section.
I disliked Apple White the most. I still do. Even with her character development, a lot of Apple's character doesn't sit well with me.

I just don't like Apple's character. She acts like this perfect, selfless princess when she only cares about people who think like her and do what she wants.
For most of the series, Apple only cares about Raven when she wants Raven to become the next Evil Queen.
She has too many roles in everything, and some of them aren't even helpful nor useful.
Apple constantly attempts to convince Raven to do what she wants (sign the Storybook of Legends and be her 'Evil Queen' regardless of Raven's true interests and pursuit of happiness) and doesn't truly care about her until the Ever After High series is practically almost over.
I just think that the way Apple is overly nice is suspicious.
Everyone favors her in such a political way that I find it triggering.
Even though Snow White put excessive pressures on Apple to be perfect, she didn't have to force people to do anything they didn't want to for her "Happily Ever After" and for her to be happy. She may have subjects but I think that a true ruler strives to make their subjects happy and help them with what they need. When the rebel students were following their true hearts desires, she completely neglected them and their needs and only favored people who had similar mindsets to hers.
By the way, I don't like Snow White in EAH either, no one should force their child to be a certain way, regardless of their background. She's a toxic parent to me, even in 2022.

She is equally too nice to be a person and has too many actually helpful roles in the series.
I still appreciate that Cedar is considerate, selfless and wants the best for her friends. We don't have a lot of POC characters in Ever After High and it's nice to see someone like Cedar on screen for people like me. She gets a lot of screentime in the webisodes and movies and it feels good to be sort of represented.
The main reason why I don't like her is because she's annoying when she says the same phrase over and over again. It gets old when you have to hear her say: "I cannot tell a lie...and blah blah blah blah" in almost every single episode she appears in. Even if Cedar doesn't mean to be annoying, sometimes she is.
— — — — So...what do you think? Let me know in the comments who your favorites and least favorites are and if you agree.
Please be civil about your opinions. If you disagree with me, don't be rude about it or try to change my mind.
I don't want people to ruin Ever After High for me the way people did for Total Drama. Don't be one of those toxic fans who tries to convert me into thinking a certain way.
I have more opinion content if you turn the page. :)
