A Very Short Prologue

Addison walked into the room and sat on the bed. She sighed.

"Are you really going to do this?"

Daniel looked away, feeling guilty.

"It's just until I get a better grip of myself. This is all happening so fast. I-I don't think I'm ready... to have a kid. I mean- with all of my mental problems and everything... what if I hurt the kid?" He took a deep breath.

"Look, I just need some time to myself. I'll be back. I promise."

And with that, Daniel stood up, gave Addison a kiss on the forehead, and left, not even giving Adi enough time to protest.
