I never had to set the table . I never had to put on my own dress till I was fourteen. I never had to go out and buy things from the markets . The servants did it , not me. The only thing I did on my own two feet was walk down to dinner . At least , that's what everyone thought I only did on my own two feet. I never minded getting a bit of dirt on my hands. Little did my parents know , I snuck out of the very window of their own castle and trained. I trained with my friend , Cole. We'd know eachother since we were five. I remember was out with my nanny servant, and I saw this little peasant boy , walking around in the market , all alone. " how does he get to do that?" I asked my nanny servant , Hilaria . She was very young at the time , maybe fifteen . She had golden hair and hazel eyes. She was very joyful most of the time . Her eyes showed pity when she saw that boy with light brown hair and grey eyes . " little peasant boys get killed every day , running about like that , sometimes little girls too, but mostly boys . His mother probably sent him out to bargain or buy a loaf of bread. But he'll get killed soon enough. It happens all the time . That's why you shan't run around like that! Oh god forbid that boys death!" Hilaria said . " oh, yes , god forbid he dies." My little self said . " yes" Hilaria said once again , watching the boy run off after staring at us. He never died.

A servant came up to my room. " it's dinner time ms. Marigold." She said as she escorted me out of my room. " thank you.... Hèloise." I said. She giggled and walked off. I sat down at our long table. Another one of my snob aunties came to visit. I heard them my mom and her laughing and speaking . " oh , and then I said, hahahah I said OFF WITH HER HEAD!! Oh how wicked that girl was!She "forgot" to smooth off the lines from the knife from my butter on my bread. Then she told me she'd fix it!" Auntie Gytha cried. My mother , my father , and my older sister laughed very loudly at this wicked doing . I stayed silent. Everyone stared at me . I continued not to smile. " well , laugh. It was funny!  That servant girl was so stupid!" Auntie Gytha said, still laughing. " it was not funny. You could have fixed the bread yourself for lords sake! Yet you decide you want to cut off the girls head instead . You ought to be disgusted by your actions! I might as well chop off your head." I murmured to her. Every one at the table gasped . " that's not a way to talk to your auntie at all!" My mother yelled at me. " is it a way to speak to the devil?!" I asked in a loud voice , not quite yelling. That got me sent to my room for the night , I was going to be sent to the dungeons the next day for a week.

I didn't sleep that night , instead I got a rope and climbed out of the window and went into the forest. " I thought you'd never come." I heard cole call out . " well I won't be here for a week, I got sent to the dungeons!" I yelled back. I couldn't see anything , but I followed the lantern light I knew was coles. " well , well!" He said . " I've got your sword here !" He said . I could hear him now. I then bumped into a skinny mass. " hey princess , I'm right here!" He said . I laughed and picked up the sword I could now see clearly . " well , let's see who's the prissy princess now!" I said , swinging at him. " missed!" He said and swung back , i wielded back my sword a bit too far , and cut my cheek a bit. I sucked some air through my teeth . Cole ran towards me, " what happened ?" He asked , now feeling my cheek, " n-nothing , I just got a stab. Come on." I said . He rubbed off the blood from my cheek and I got back up. This time I struck him a bit , but we never wounded or hurt eachother . We just gently touched eachother with our swords . " ha!" I said , staying alert and blocking coles sword . "Wow , princess!" He laughed . " whatever mister tough!" I said and swung at him. He blocked it. I didn't go back to those dreaded castles for three hours . " I've got to go before dawn." I sighed. I then hugged him. " thanks for ... training with me ." I said. I then kissed him on the cheek and waved goodbye and ran back to the castle .

My mother sent me to the dungeons the next morning. I didn't mind because I could sleep. I dozed off until I got hungry. I woke up to that eaten away feeling in my stomach , sure enough , bread and water awaited me . I took a bite of the bread and a swig of the water, then went back to sleep , thinking of the training I could have done with Cole. I'd heard my mother talking to the king of the kingdom far off west. They were going to join forces . I thought it was all too good to be true , but I had no say , for I was a banished princess in the dungeons for having say in the first place.
