Hermione slipped out of the Gryffindor common room. She would have been easily unnoticed due to the raging party being held, but one person payed close enough attention. And as she began to walk down the halls in the erie night, a hand caught hers. Hermione turned around with an unusual speediness and pushed the intruder against the wall, taking out her wand and putting it against their throat. Only to meet the startled face of Harry. Hermione breathed a sigh of relief and let him go. Things like that startled her, and if she learned anything about their adventures was that Hermione always needed to be ready for anything. Harry looked at her with confusion written on his face, and Hermione rubbed the back of her neck.
"Oh Harry, I um..didn't see you there" Hermione said akwardly. Despite ignoring the urge not to, she kept eye contact with Harry. Maybe that would make him less suspicous of anything. Not like she was doing anything bad of course...
"Mione, is everything alright? Why did you leave the party? Did Ron bug you again?!" He had a worried look on his face, Hermione really did appreciate how he always looked out for her. She hated to lie to him, but Harry wouldn't like to hear the truth. He'd say it was dangerous.
"I'm fine Harry, and I was just on my way to the kitchen for a late night snack, thats all" It was a good lie, but Harry pointed out a fatal flaw. C'mon Hermione! Step up your game!
"But there's food in the common room. Although I can understand getting some peace and quiet." I nodded, peace and quiet and some donuts.
"I know, I just have this craving for some donuts right now"
"Whats a ...donut?" Y'know Hermione is often dissapointed in Harry. How could he not know what a donut is?!
"Its a muggle food, Harry. One of the best things on the planet. Anyway I'll talk to you later! Bye!" She ran down the halls, leaving him stranded with a worried expression.
Hermione didn't stop running until she reached the Room of Requirement, the only place she felt safe enough to take out her time turner. This time she imagined the Effiel Tower, Hermione always wanted to go and see it but never had the chance.
Opening the door she was greeted with a starry night sky. Her hands gripped the metal bars, looking down she saw small buildings and roads. But Hermione knew it wasn't real, and she turned away to grab the time turner that was hanging from her neck, hidden by her robes.
Hermione changed the time turner backwards a couple of years, 1930 was her destination. And she couldn't wait to meet up with him again, to laugh and talk our lives. She knew it was dangerous and risky, but Hermione would do anything to see a friend again. But then a thought struck her as she was thrown back in time. Was it worth lying to one of her best friends just to see another friend?
