Manong Guard (One Shot)

"Alex. Long no time no see. Are those for me?" Sagot ko saka nginuso yung mga roses na hawak nung guard na nakita kong galing sa kanya.

"Uh…"

"You're so pathetic, you know. You can't even face me and give those stuffs personally to me. Are you that coward?" Nagcross arms ako.

"Janna, I'm planning to--"

"Yeah right. You know what, just stop whatever you're doing. Firstly, nasasayang lang ang pera mo. Secondly, I don’t need any of those and they're just too fabulous to stay in the bin. And lastly, I don't date torpe. Aww, poor you. Better luck next time, though." I rolled my eyes heavenwards saka ulit sinuot yung shades. I walked stunningly papunta sa office ni daddy.

Today's the day of prom. Actually, later pa. I'm quite excited, I must say. Last year, I got the title of 'Prom Queen' and now, I'm quite sure that I would be one again.

While having my DIY spa, my phone rang. I grabbed it at sinagot ito.

"Hello?"

"Janna! What's up?"

"Seth. I'm having spa. Bakit ka napatawag?"

Seth is my friend when I went to America - I was ten back then. He's half American. Her mom and my mom are bestfriends so yung mom niya, pinagaral siya sa school namin.

"Well, I just wanted you to know that…" Pagputol niya sa sasabihin niya.

"Well?"

"I…I can't come later."

"What?! Are you insane?! You need to come!" Napabangon ako ng pagkakahiga ko. He is my partner para sa prom mamaya.If I don’t have a partner, ano nalang sasabihin ng mga tao?! Ugh!

"I'm sorry but I need to go to Sarah. She's in hospital and she needs me."

Sarah is his girlfriend. They met here sa Philippines and fate did its work. Hindi siya pumapasok sa school namin kaya hindi siya yung partner niya.

"You're crazy." Sabi ko lang saka napailing.

"I'm so sorry. I'll make it up to you."

"You better." Sabi ko lang sala binaba yung tawag.

Agad agad akong nagbihis dahil nawalan na ako ng gana. Nakaupo ako sa kama ko, nagiisip kung anong pwedeng gawin. Kinuha ko yung bag ko saka binuhos yung laman. I need a gum.

Kinuha ko yung mint box ko saka binuksan. Kumuha ako ng isa. While chewing, my eyes rested on the thing on my bed. Lollipop. Chocolate flavor.
