Blah blah blah.
It's been about a month since I joined this school. It's really nice here. Everyone is friendly and my 'group' always hangs out with me. I take many classes and study about mutants and life. It's quite fascinating. Anyway, so I'm sitting in class with professor X teaching. He is my favorite teacher.
So, after class I have a short break where I sit outside and read. Caleb sits next to me. I hang out with him the most. He is really nice to me and we are the bestest of friends. I'm reading a story when Avery and Eli come over to us.
"Hey! Love birds!"
I snap up from my book. "We are not lovebirds!" I spit at her. She has no idea. Caleb chuckles next to me.
"Whatever. Just take a look at this." She throws a newspaper in my lap and I set my book down. I read the headline:
Mutant Robs Store. Are They Still A Threat?
"Still?" Caleb asks, looking at the paper.
"I guess they were before. We have always been trying to settle things with humans." Avery responds.
"What does this mean?" I put in.
"Could mean war." Eli says
"Again" Avery takes the newspaper from me and tucks it under her arm. "Just don't tell anyone about it. Professor might not want us to know."
We nod in unison.
"Ok see you in class." Avery says then walks away.

(Time skip)
(Late at night)
The light flickers above the table. My pencil is the only noise in the room. It is a small room, but made for hanging out. No one is in the hallway. No one is making a sound. I sit in a room, studying for a class. My eyelids droop with sleep. I could never get this concept down so studying it at night was a GREAT idea. I sit on a high stool, staring from a textbook to my piece of paper, then back at the text book again. My neck is sore from doing this, but this is the only way.
In the distance I hear a faint groan, and then a bed squeak. I ignore it, since it was late at night. Then I hear footsteps that get louder, and keep staring at my book. I copy each word from the book like a robot. Crickets are chirping outside the window.
I look up to see a man stand in front of me. He wears a white undershirt and sleeping pants. His hair is curled a certain way, and he is tall like a tree. He has a face that shows tiredness, anxiety, and mystery. He stares at me as I stare back.
Then he walks over to the fridge and opens it. I watch him grab a coke and pull up a chair and sit at the table I am working on. He looks at the book, and then me.
"What 'cha working on?" He asks, opens his coke and takes a sip.
I snap out of my brain dead trance. "Oh. Uh, schoolwork." I say, then return to my work. Suddenly, I remember who he is. I've seen him around the school before. I know he teaches classes, occasionally.
I stop and think about what to write next. I can still feel him watching me as he drinks his coke.
"So, what's your name?" He asks.
"Isabel."
"Logan." He nods as a 'hi' and gulps down the last of his soda. "You know, it's kind of late. You should get some sleep." He turns and heads to the door. I think I saw him rub his eyes and forehead out of the corner of my vision.
"What about you?" I ask. I didn't mean to say that but it just came out. "Why are you still up?" That sounded rude.
Logan hesitated. "Nightmares." Then left and walked down the hallway. I was left alone again.
I thought about his suggestion, and then stacked my book, pencil, and paper in a stack and walked out of the room. I headed back to my dorm and got some sleep.
Ok. I'm sorry, that was a pretty bad chapter. I just wanted Isabel to meet Logan, if you know what I mean. I had that in my head so yea.
AND, I just watched X-men Days of Future Past. It is REALLY good and confusing. I suggest you watch it. But watch the others first.
Anyway.
Toddles.
