"You sure you wanna go all in Nora?" Malik asked.
"Don't question my call M," I firmly replied.
"haha yeahhh, y'all heard her," Malik smiled happily.
The dealer nodded and made sure everyone else was all in. This game was getting pretty intense and I could tell by how the men at the table looked down and tweedled their thumbs. I had this game in the bag.
The other players put down their cards hoping to win the half a million dollars that we all just bet. Each and everyone of them shocked me as some had a full house and others just had pairs.
"Alright Nora what do you got," Johnny asked as he raised his brows.
"Straight royal flush," I smiled as I leaned toward the table and spread out my cards.
The players got up angrily and complained that the game was rigged.
"Nah bro come on you know she didn't have those cards in the beginning," Scott complained to the dealer.
"Don't hate the player, hate the game baby," I winked.
"God you're lucky you're sexy as fuck," Scott rolled his eyes.
I chuckled as Malik turned to me and started telling me about the race we had on Friday night.
"Remember be there by 8, I don't want no fashionably late excuses. These guys are tough N, and I don't want any drama especially cause you're a girl and they'll just get even more angry," Malik explained.
"They're only gonna be angry once they find out what I have under my hood," I smirked.
"Atta girlllll," Malik replied as he put his arm around my neck as we walk outside towards the parking structure.
Malik and I have been friends for a while now. I met him at an auto shop when I first started getting into racing. I didn't know much about cars but all I knew was that I loved the speed. The intensity. The adrenaline it gave me. He taught me how the engines work and how to not blow them up. We worked on cars together and turned shitty cars into race cars. He was family to me.
"Alright I'll see you girl," Malik gives me a last hug before he races off in his Maybach.
I wave him off and drive in the opposite direction to where my bed awaits me.
