Chapter 1 *Rewrite 2023 Version*

It was a stormy night at the B.P.R.D, and in its library, a young woman, no older than 25 with long black hair with dark blue streaks, mesmerizing blue eyes, and lightly tanned skin, was lying asleep on a red velvet couch that was placed upon a platform area near the base of a spiral staircase in the middle of the room, covered with a blanket and under the blanket laid a book that held the history of an ancient and mostly forgotten civilization called Bethmoora and its royal family, on her chest. She had found it amongst the rest of the late Professor Broom's collection that he had left her in his will along with a small fortune and the forest surrounding the estate, the entire library that she shared with her humanoid fish friend, Abe Saipan, who was currently in his tank listening to Vivaldi's composure 'The Four Seasons'. The two friends enjoyed their peaceful evening in their haven. As the young girl slept, her mind was filled with images of a handsome man with long platinum hair and burnt golden eyes that seemed to be filled with rage and sadness. She watched him as he started to practice with a spear in a dark and damp area. She was captivated by how graceful he was as he moved around the area. She felt at peace in her dream as her mind was filled with those piercing eyes. At least it was until an older white male, with a balding head, and a cheap suit walked into the library. When he was fully inside the room, he saw the young woman sleeping and walked up the small staircase before he smacked her foot, causing her to get yanked out of her dreams and right into defense mode, grabbed her dagger from under the book, and aimed it at him. When she saw that it was only the man she knew as Manning, she sighed and lowered her blade. "What the hell, Manning?" She asked as she lowered her dagger, instead of giving the girl, he made the follow-me gesture to her. She sighed and got up from the comfort and warmth of the couch, and followed the man who made her leave the world of dreams that the book leads her in and walked towards Abe's pool with him. She couldn't help but laugh at her friend jamming to the classic music.

Sadly he was brought out of his jamming session when Manning knocked on the glass, getting the blue man's attention. "Fish stick, we need to talk." He placed a folder labeled 'Classified'. The trio started to walk through the B.P.R.D. talking about how red was "tormenting " him. While Abe was trying to defend Red, the woman was just thinking about her book and started to wonder whatever happened to the ancient kingdom. Do they still thrive in the shadows or are they dead and forgotten? But as she wondered what had happened to them, she couldn't help but remember the dreams she had of the lost kingdom before they morphed into dreams of the mystery man with golden eyes. How real it felt and how beautiful it was. The forest and meadows, the elves as well as every other magical creature like trolls and goblins. She stayed lost in her memories and curiosity until they finally made it to Red's and Liz's area. When the trio got to the hallway, they saw how the vault door was expanding rapidly as was the yelling from Liz growing louder. They watched the door reach its limits as the bolts holding the door to the wall were blown off its hinges and the high-grade vault door came barreling at the three at an alarming rate. Lucky for them, they were able to dodge the metal door. The girl was waiting for the dust to settle. Once it did, they saw the big red ape-like man, slowly get off of the ground.

"Hey Abe, Nikki, "The red man waved at the trio "Manning" he continues to dust himself. Nikki scoffed at her demonic friend. When he finished dusting himself off a woman's voice, who the group recognized as the fiery lover, Liz, was yelling at him. "Watch it guys. She's on fire." He said as he walked back into the room.

"You know that one day she is going to roast his ass," Nikki said walking towards the room.

As the trio walked in the couple was still arguing about Liz and her space. Nikki looked around the smokey room and shook her head at the mess. Liz was trying to explain this to Red as she held up her cat food-covered toothbrush. But when the alarm went off, Red was relieved. "Oh, damn. Gotta go. We all gotta go." Red said, trying to get out of the conversation.
