Michael

I didn't even want to be here.

I stepped through the dark wooden doors of the performance hall to be greeted by a crowd of students, their family members, and professors. The mix of expensive cologne and perfume mixed in the room as bodies swarmed to find their seats, I glanced around again following close behind my best mate, Calum Hood.

"Why did you force me to come to this again Calum?" I groaned as we made our way down a crowded isle near the stage, he sat down with a sigh. He opened up his programme that listed the performers for tonight, "because I promised Mali that I would watch her this week, and I definitely didn't want to look like a creep being all alone"

I laughed at his last comment, adjusting in my suit coat, supposedly even if you were just sitting here for an hour to just watch someone it was a dressy occasion. Me being a more laid back guy I decided to go with some black skinnies, a nice white shirt, and a suit. I dreaded these things, I wasn't a good dancer, why would I want to watch someone else do it? Even though Calum knew I hated these sort of occasions he convinced me on coming with him when he called me this morning.

Mali-Koa was his younger sister, a protégé of sorts, she was an excellent performer and graduated her arts high school early, so of course she was excepted into the wonderful school, Julliard.

"Well, Hood I don't think two twenty-two year old guys watching girls dance all night is any better, mate." Calum chuckled as the lights flashed three times to signal there was five minutes until the recital started, "You have a point there mate, but I mean there is an abundance of ladies here, I mean look, that one is staring at you", he tapped my shoulder and pointed at a girl, a few rows in front of us, looking at me. She whispered in her friends ear, I laughed with a 'huh', I was used to this, a sexy girl, one like herself, having an interest in me.

You could call me a man whore, but I see it as I have... Options..

The unnamed girl had smirk as she looked at me, her blond hair falling down her back, covered in a tight black dress as her petite frame leaned closer to her friend to say something. I smirked over at her, and winked. I couldn't help it, a woman with that beautiful of face and sexy body needed to be treated right, if you know what I mean.

I averted my attention back to the stage as the lights dimmed to signal the show had started. I glanced at my programme to see that Mali-Koa performed close to the end of the recital.

Damn it.

I was hoping we could see her and then leave after and slip back in at the end act like we were here for the whole thing, now there was no chance of Calum letting me leave now, what a drag.

The performances droned on as the announced each one, along with the lengthy song titles, and names of performers. The dancers were good, don't get me wrong, but I would much rather be in my apartment playing my guitar or eating pizza right now.

I think the best part of about these dance things would have to be the hot outfits, they basically wore skin tight swim suit thing, I can't recall the name, leotards, I think. Yeah, leotards, I probably only remember that because it say tard in the name, it's a funny word, I had to admit that.

As the recital went on I couldn't imagine having as much talent as these girls, I can imagine when I'm at a club and drunk I look like a chicken with it's head cut off. I smiled to myself as I thought back to times where I was at the club with my mates, I probably embarrassed myself every time, but I was having fun, so I don't mind.

"Mali-Koa Hood, Freshman, to the stage.. preforming to the song.." a monotone voice sounded from the surround sound across the room. Ugh, finally, I thought to myself, it's almost over. I sighed and adjusted in my seat, it becoming more and more uncomfortable the longer I sit there.
