Waiting

There was a man, young and slim, he was decently strong, loved to parkour sometimes and played video games. He was very awkward and silent, stayed quiet most of his life, not very social although he had plenty of friends. Friends he didn't hang out with since he was shy to ask. He had 3 girlfriends up til now, all of which are now his 3 ex girlfriends. One who he suspected of cheating, the second left him so as to not lead him on, and the third he broke up with admitting she was just there to fill a hole in his heart.

His name was Joey, he had a good paying job although he started losing hours, had to pay his parents rent which he was behind on, and never really did anything else. He lived by each passing day, and with each day he grew tired of life, feeling empty inside. That was until one of his ex girlfriends came back into his life, his 2nd girlfriend, her name was Julia. She was beautiful, had short curly black hair, but she dyed it red, and brown eyes that Joey enjoyed to stare into, she had the perfect body that Joey just wanted to keep his arms wrapped around. Her personality was something that had Joey head over heels for, funny, full of joy, always wanting to try new things in a way, and she had a smile at all times, not once did Joey ever see her mad. She always acted cute and adorable, sometimes she was daring, but she was also caring. Worrying about friends and family, asking if they're okay and being there for them. She was someone Joey held close to his heart at all times.

Joey had called her one day, wanting to talk to her since he was feeling down. She cheered him up instantly with just the sound of her voice, he couldn't stop smiling from ear to ear. He felt so happy, then asked her how she's been, and she responds with "it's been stressful, I came back into town to escape all the drama and stress back home, and I have no one to cheer me up, my boyfriend is in LA and all my friends are in this town, so I came here to hang out with everyone."
Joey, being silent, listening, could feel his heart ache at the sound of her saying boyfriend, he didn't know what to say next, he just stayed quiet.
"Joey? You there?" - Julia
"Huh? Oh yeah, I'm here..." - Joey
"You okay?" - Julia
"I'm fine, umm how long have you been dating this guy?" - Joey
"About 3 months now" -Julia
Joey now in a depressed state tells Julia that he's going to bed now, and hangs up the phone, placing his phone down, he grabs his chest in pain and cries himself to sleep all curled up in the corner of his bed.

The next day arrives, and she sends him a message asking Joey for his address, he can't believe it, she's coming over, immediately he sends it to her and gets out of bed. He starts to prepare himself, takes a shower, eats breakfast, changes into some nice clothes ready for her to arrive. She finally arrives, and they both catch up on everything that's happened. The two begin to lay on each other, and have each other's hands going through one another's hair, holding hands sometimes, innocently playing around but she stops and says it's all wrong since she's in a relationship...

Yet they continued with what they did multiple times throughout the day, happy and smiling so much within each other's presence. Later that night, they both confessed to each other, she even admitted to breaking up with her boyfriend, and Joey was filled with so much happiness and guilt because he knows it was his fault. She then says that she would rather just be friends with him, nothing more, nothing less. This broke Joey, he couldn't accept it, he hung up and began to feel the pain in his heart again, even greater than before. He cried, cried throughout the night, couldn't even sleep, his cries could be heard throughout the neighborhood all night long.

It's morning and Joey, still curled up on the floor instead of his bed, was awake, red eyes, shaking, still broken... he gets up and decides to not to message her or even call her, he couldn't get himself to do it. He tried living his life for a couple of days, but he couldn't stop thinking about her, and the pain grew, he tried to distract himself but nothing worked. Finally, he decided he'll talk to her.

It's Julia's last day in town, and he decides to ask her to come over to his house, he has a teddy bear in hand just for her. So she comes over and he gives her a big hug, hands her the teddy bear and hugs her again.

"I'm gonna miss you Julia, I really am. I don't even want to let go, I just want to keep you here in my arms forever. Honestly, I can understand why you would want to be friends, but I just can't accept that, and i won't, so let me just say this... I'll always hold you close to my heart, I'll stay single all my life until the day you come back to me, I'll wait for you for as long as it takes even if it's a life time. Even if you don't come back, I'll continue waiting..." - Joey

Julia didn't know how to respond, and Joey started to tear up after saying all of this.
"Goodbye Julia, I hope to see you again soon, I'll always be waiting for you... drive safely back home okay?..." - Joey

Julia still hasn't responded, she just leaves with the bear, tearing up a little as she reaches her car and drives off. Joey sits down, and begins waiting on her, waiting for her to call or message him, waiting for her to contact him.

It's been a couple of years now, and Joey who's still waiting on Julia, has continued to message her, giving her a daily update of his everyday life and how he's felt throughout each passing day and asking how she's been doing everyday, but no response back. One day, he woke up to see he's received a message, and it was from Julia, then his phone begins to ring as Julia calls him. He picks up the phone.

"Hello?" - Joey
"Hi Joey, it's Julia..." - Julia

(Hey everyone! Sorry about this haha, I'm back, and like I promised I'll be adding more to this story! Of course I'll be typing up the full story, hope you all enjoy! Anyway, sorry for taking up too much of your time, here's a little part of the story now!)

"Okay mom, I'm off to work now!" - Joey
"Be careful on your way there and behave yourself Joey!" - Joey's Mom
"I will mom don't worry!" - Joey

This is Joey, he's 19 years old and works at Publix as a bagger. He's not very outgoing, so it's a pain for him to have to communicate with others, he'd rather play video games or go outside by himself, but he also needs the money. Today was different, he didn't feel right, he felt empty. There wasn't anything that really interested Joey, he felt like life didn't have anything left to offer him. He didn't know exactly what it was he was looking for, he had always lived by each passing day, wanting life to surprise him. Feeling down, he realized that he was missing someone, he kept thinking about them subconsciously, wanting to be with that person again. So he decided to message them...

Joey went on to message an ex of his, of course for most this would probably be a bad idea but Joey was still friends with her. He didn't know who else to turn to.

Joey - Hey Julia, what's up?

Julia - Not much, just sitting at home playing rainbow 6 siege with friends.

Joey - sounds like fun haha, umm... can we talk later? I really need someone right now, I'm feeling down at the moment.

Julia - Sure, I'm always here for you Joey, remember that okay? When do you want to talk?

Joey - later tonight, after I get out at 11 pm, if that's fine?

Julia - sure that's good with me, I'll still be up for a couple more hours.

Joey - Okay, great! Talk to you then, I'm going to go back to work now, cya!

Julia - bye Joey!
