Prolouge

     "C'mon Sweets, we gotta hurry up so we can meet Toni and Fangs at the park!" A young Kevin Keller yelled at his next door neighbor, and best friend (well, he had 3), Sweet Pea. "Hold on Kev!" Exclaimed Sweet Pea as he was putting on his sweater.

     God, if Sweet Pea wasn't his best friend Kevin would've chocked him by now. The two boys ran out the door, not before saying goodbye to Kevin's dad, and sprinted as fast as their little legs could take them. Sweet Pea was obviously in the lead as Kevin wasn't really into sports.

     When they got to the park, Toni and Fangs were already waiting. "Guys, you're late." Said the short brunette. "We wouldn't have been late if this meat sack hadn't taking so long!" Kevin stated as he thwacked the back of Sweet Pea's head. "Hey! That hurt! At least I ran here!" Exclaimed Sweet Pea while rubbing his head.

     "Hey Keller." Fangs said trying to join in on the conversation. He was always the quiet one. "Oh hey Fangs! Sorry were late." Kevin said. "It's alright. Although I think Toni's grandpa is angry at both of you for being late." Stated Fangs. "Nah, Topaz'z grandfather seems fine." Sweet Pea added. "Hey! Leave grandpa out of this! Let's go play now." Toni chimed in.

     Toni and Sweet Pea ran to the swings, leaving Kevin and Fangs alone. "H-Hey Keller, w-wanna go on the s-slide with me?" Asked Fangs, quietly cursing himself for stuttering. "Um, I-I've n-never been o-on a s-slide before." Kevin admitted slightly scared. "Um, how bout I wait at the bottom of the slide and I catch you when you go down?" Asked Fangs.

     "F-Fine, alright." Said Kevin still frightened. As Kevin neared the slide, he was regretting it. But this was Fangs, the one person who could convince him to do something. "Here I go!" He yelled to Fangs who was at the bottom of the slide. Fangs was happy that he could spend time with the Keller boy. He didn't know it yet, but he was in love.

     Kevin screamed as he went down the slide. It seemed to go on forever until he landed in a pair of arms that felt like he was right at home. He could've stayed there if it wasn't for Toni's yelling. "Hey! You guys coming to get ice cream?" Asked Toni. "Fangs that was fun! We gotta do it again!" Exclaimed Kevin. "Someday Keller. Someday. For now, let's go get ice cream." Fangs said.

     Fangs groaned. His report card for second grade had just come in. He was failing. He knew he had to break the news to the others. "Hey Fangs! How did you do on your report card?" Asked Kevin. "Not well Keller." He said. "Lemme see." Kevin said, not even waiting for an answer from Fangs.

     Kevin's face said it all he was disappointed. But then, he got an idea. "Fangs, I'm going to help you with your schoolwork, and you can't say no! Besides, you own me because of the slide!" Exclaimed Kevin. Fangs was happy to say the least. "Alright Keller! Where are we going to study?" Asked Fangs. "That's a piece of cake! We're going to my house!" Exclaimed Kevin.

     Fangs did in fact end up raising his grades. He was so thankful for having a friend like Kevin. "Keller! Thanks for you're help!" Fangs said with excitement in his voice. "No problem Fangs! I helped that meat sack Sweet Pea with his work last year." Kevin said happily. Fangs knew what he had to do next. And he did do it.

     He planted a small kiss on Kevin's lips and asked "will you marry me?" Kevin looked happy. He giggled a little and said "oh little Fangs, ask me when we're 18 and I'll say yes." Fangs went home feeling happier than most days.
