CHAPTER 1

"Jada, time to get up," my mom said while gently shaking me. I got up slowly knowing today was the day that people were going to be chosen to compete to be the one the new president would marry. I had never found much interest in him, sure he was really attractive and his voice was the best one to ever exist but he was also rich and got everything his way. "Okay, I'm getting up," I replied letting her know I wasn't still sleeping.
When I was completely up I got dressed and went to eat breakfast. I put on a dark purple dress that flowed around my legs and made me look decent for the events today. As I was eating my mom walked up behind me and started doing my hair. "Are you okay with me braiding your hair today?" My mom asked although she probably would've done it in a braid either way. "Yes ma'am, that sounds good to me," I responded with respect but she could hear a slight nervousness in my voice.
"Do you hope to be chosen?" She questioned eagerly. "Not really, but I'm nervous that I will be. Even if I do get picked I'll probably be the first to go home." I said acting like I didn't care about Zach even though he seemed perfect.       "There you go. Your hair looks perfect just like everything else about you," my mom said picking up my dishes from breakfast. "Thanks mom," I said blushing.
I walked out of the kitchen and ran into my sister, "Oh my goodness! Jada, you look beautiful!" She exclaimed. "Thank you, you do too," I said looking at my older sister in amazement. My sister, Amy was married but she still came over and surprised me. "Zach will instantly be in love if he sees you like this," Amy said almost shouting. "I still need to finish getting ready but thanks. And thank you for coming over," I said laughing a little because I thought someone like Zach would never fall in love with me.
