"I love you"...Those words echoed in her head for the longest time. Almost as if his words were trying to register anything in her brain. Everything about him enticed me; the way he kissed her, or the smell of his cologne. The way he held her waist or tried protecting her like he was some superhero in a comic book.
She just sat there in the pew of some church with God know whose saint as a name. All she knew was that it was quiet and it was cold in the room. The pastor sat next to me and asked;
"Why are you here all alone?'' she didn't even look up to meet his gaze and simply said, "How do you know when someone truly loves you?'' He simply said "You'll never know. As the timing is right, you will have this feeling and you'll know it's true." His response didn't give much assistance to her.
It just made her wonder even more if his words were true. But of course when time on, it slowly drifted into non existence. Like she was numb to the world around her. He said it everyday, every chance he got to say it he did. Of course she heard him but his words never registered in my brain, like she thought it would have.
